Joseph P. Raposky Jr., age 84, of Finleyville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital. After retiring from managing an auto salvage business, he enjoyed spending time with and caring for his family, working outside with wood, and doing puzzles. Joe was looked up to by everyone, both family and community, for his no nonsense guidance and ability to handle problems. Born October 10, 1939 in Large, he was a son of the late Joseph P. Raposky Sr. and the late Mary (Sopko) Raposky. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy C. Raposky; children, Robin (Jeremy) Musher of Sewickley and Lori (Lou) Stephens of Peters Twp.; granddaughters, Caitlin (Joshua) Jordan of Whitehall and Emily Steve of Peters Twp.; sister, Jane Foshee; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, J. Alexander Grassel; brother, Michael Raposky, and sister, Kathleen Campbell. Ross M. Wargo, age 33, of West Mifflin, formerly of Irwin, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at home. He was a financial solutions specialist for First Commonwealth Bank in Munhall. He enjoyed computers, gaming, and spending time with his children. Born March 12, 1990, he was a son of Richard Wargo of Irwin and the late Toni (Palarino) Wargo. In addition to his father, he is survived by his husband, John Warman of West Mifflin; children, Leana, Lily and August Wargo; sister, Stacey Jobe of Slickville; mother-in-law, Jeanine Medved of West Mifflin; aunt, Nancy Wargo of Irwin; also, aunts and uncles. Mary Pavlecic, age 95 of McKeesport, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in UPMC East, Monroeville.  Born June 1, 1928 in Wilmerding, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mara (Nejak) Basa.  A member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, Mary worked as a clerk at Kaufmann's Department Store, for Nabisco in Pittsburgh, and at Basa's Greenhouse.  She was also a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge #146 and its Pensioneers and Senior Women's Club; the Penn Sembles, the Royal Neighbors, S.O.A.R., and the Mon Yough Friendship Club.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank "Tata" Pavlecic, who passed away August 16, 2006; her sons Frank C. Pavlecic, Jr., who passed away February 25, 2018, and Gary Pavlecic, Sr., who passed away April 21, 2009; and her siblings: Andrew Basa, Kathryn Cipcic, and Rose Patella.  Mary is survived by her grandchildren Nicole (Ben) Cable of North Huntingdon, G. Matthew Pavlecic Jr. of Gibsonia, David R. (Heather) Pavlecic of Glenshaw, and Jonathan J. Pavlecic of Penn Hills; her great-grandchildren Ethan Cable, and Macie, Dominic and Giavonna Pavlecic; her daughters in law Judy and Judi Pavlecic; and also nieces and nephews.

William C. Lindstrom, age 100, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at home. He was a retired welder for Ceco Steel in West Mifflin and a former employee of the Elizabeth Twp. Sanitary Authority. He was a member of the Westmoreland County Farm Bureau. Born August 2, 1923 in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late Esther Lindstrom. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janet N. (Elkin) Lindstrom; daughters, Karen A. Lindstrom of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Janet M. Lindstrom of McMurray; grandsons, Kirk R. Bummer and Robert A. Percival. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Lindstrom. Patrick J. Evans, age 71 of North Huntingdon and formerly of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital.  Born March 27, 1952 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Edward E. and Virginia (Calvert) Evans.  After graduating from California University of Pennsylvania, Patrick was a successful businessman working in sales for Consolidated Graphics Communications for 45 years and was a co-founder of Mount Vernon Healthcare assisted living facilities in Elizabeth Township and South Park.  He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in North Huntingdon. For Pat, life was a celebration and family meant everything to him.  He loved to travel with his family (especially to Hilton Head and Disney World), to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events and performances, and to dance with his truly beloved late wife of 46 years, Barbara K. (Kish) Evans, who he now joins. In his spare time, he also enjoyed running. Patrick will be remembered as a man who loved to laugh and have a good time.  He always made sure that everyone was taken care of and he would do anything for anyone (but especially for his family).  He never missed a chance to tell you that he loved you.  He is survived by his children Laura (Kevin) Ward of Gibsonia, Brian (Theresa) Evans of North Huntingdon, Maggie (Brian) Carlton of North Huntingdon, and Elizabeth (Adam) Holy of Wexford, his grandchildren (to whom he was lovingly referred to as “Bubba”) Benjamin and Zachary Ward, Katelyn and Madelyn Evans, Miles Carlton, and Avery Holy; his brothers Edward (Jean) Evans of Chicago, Michael (Camille) Evans of Upper St. Clair, and Thomas (Mary) Evans of Rostraver Twp.; and also cousins, nieces and nephews.

James Edward Barrickman Jr., age 81, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 at home. A 1960 Thomas Jefferson High School graduate and member of Elrama Community Church, he retired as a superintendent for Dick Corporation. He was a lifetime member of the West Elizabeth and Elrama volunteer fire companies, Elrama Sportsmen's Club, and Stephen Bayard Masonic Lodge 526 of Elizabeth and Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. Born March 4, 1942 in Jefferson Hills, he was a son of the late James Edward Barrickman Sr. and the late Mary (Wray) Barrickman. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Ann (Pickering) Barrickman; daughter, Kay Lynn (Gary) Miller of Elizabeth; son, James Edward (Robin) Barrickman III of Pasadena, MD; grandchildren, Christina M. (Donald) Blank of Elizabeth, Melissa K. Barrickman of Nashville, TN, John (Ann) Howard of Elizabeth, Lindsey Howard of South Hills, James Edward Barrickman IV of Las Vegas and Ana W. Daniel E. Ference

Daniel Edward Ference, 71, of Glassport, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Jefferson Hospital. Born November 15, 1952, he was the son of the late Edward and Marie Ference. Daniel is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margie (Roberts) Ference. Dan was a member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, the Elizabeth Township Gun Club, and a member of the Glassport Senior Center where he loved to do his chair exercises, play bingo, and socialize. He was passionate about military history, enjoyed building models, and visiting Civil War re-enactments and military battlegrounds. Dan played guitar in a polka band called the “Hollidays” in the 1970s. He continued that love of music and playing his guitar brought him joy. Dan received his Bachelor’s of Industrial Arts and Masters of Computer Science from California University of Pennsylvania. He was a professor at Community College of Allegheny County – South Campus for 44 years. He leaves behind a loving family including two sons, Daniel E. Ference Jr., daughter-in-law Erin and grandchildren Joshua, Natalie and Nicholas with whom he loved spending time playing card games and visiting Disney, and David M. Ference of Midlothian, TX, daughter-in-law, Linda and granddaughter Elizabeth, with whom watching Scooby-Doo was their favorite thing to do. He is also survived by siblings, Thomas (Lori) Ference of Finleyville, Robert (Amy) Ference of Rostraver and Diane Ference of Jefferson Hills; also, nieces and nephews. Rita Croyle of Rostraver is a special cousin with whom he grew up. The family would like to give thanks for the kind and compassionate care that was given in our time of need. Donald Taylor, age 92, of Elizabeth Twp., formerly of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Jefferson Hospital. He was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Twp. An educator for more than 30 years, he was a former Clairton High School History teacher and former chairman of Social Sciences at Community College of Allegheny County, South Campus. He was a great softball player and played first base for several mill and church leagues. He was a devoted husband and loving father. Born April 16, 1931 in Cambridge, Ohio, he was a son of the late Carl and Margaret (Davis) Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bette Lou (Percy) Taylor; children, Holly (Dan Nickerson) Taylor of Limerick and Scott Taylor of Clairton; grandchildren, Devon Langston of Tampa, FL and Ryann Gephart of Limerick; also, nieces. Mary Kay Oliverio

Mary Kay (Olasin) Oliverio, age 73 of McKeesport, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 in Transitions of North Huntingdon.  Born January 19, 1951 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Grace (Naugle) Olasin.  Mary Kay attended Point Park College and went on to work as a social worker for ARC Allegheny and Achieva, both in Pittsburgh.  After retiring she worked as a pet sitter.  Mary Kay was a member of Corpus Christi Church (Mary, Mother of God Parish) in McKeesport and the ASPCA.  She often supported the Humane Society, The World Wildlife Federation, and Wounded Warrior Project.  Mary Kay will always be remembered as a God-loving person, exceedingly caring, and most of all: a loving mother, sister, and wonderful grandmother.

Mary E. Lasich, age 77 of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 in Jefferson Hospital.  Born April 26, 1946 in New Orleans, LA, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Virginia (Hicks) Makepeace.  A 1964 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and Franco Beauty Academy, Mary retired from Target in West Mifflin and was an active member of Pine Run United Methodist Church.  In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, embroidery, miniatures, and various other arts and crafts.  Mary won several blue ribbons at the Washington County Fair for entries in knitting and needlework.  She was a member of the Pittsburgh Miniature Society; participated in several craft-related charities; was an avid baker, cook, and gardener; and enjoyed regular trips to Ohio Amish Country with her husband of 56 years, Richard D. Lasich.  Besides her husband, Mary is survived by her children Beth (Mark) Emerick, Eric (Jessica) Lasich, Andrew (Melissa) Lasich, and Mark Lasich; her grandchildren Joshua, Amber, Jake, Ryan, Colin, and Maddie; her sister Susan Rosetti; and also numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jack Makepeace.

Margaret A. Marker, age 86, of Lincoln Boro., passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Southwestern Nursing Center. A member of the Glassport River City Church and a former member of the Bunola Church of the Nazarene, she worked as the filing department superintendent for G.C. Murphy Company. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lincoln Borough Volunteer Fire Department, a former member of AARP and was an assistant Girl Scout leader for the Lincoln Boro. Girl Scouts. After the passing of her husband, Margaret enjoyed traveling the United States and had a great love for her church and God and her main joy in life was helping others. Born in West Elizabeth on December 31, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Edna (McLaughlin) Halt and was wife of the late George D. Marker. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Lee Logothetis of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, Michael Michnowicz, DJ (Kellie) Harvey, and Brandon Logothetis; great-grandchildren, Jamison, Hannah, and Claire; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lydia Ann Harvey. Friends will be received at the Paul E.
