Michael A. Chomanics Sr., 81, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019.  He was born October 12, 1938 in McKeesport, son of the late Michael and Julia Rebar Chomanics.  Prior to his retirement, Michael was a custodian for Norwin School District. Michael enjoyed woodworking and was previously self employed as a custom cabinet maker. He also enjoyed sightseeing and casino trips with his wife. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha M. Chomanics; brothers, Stephen and Paul Chomanics.  He is survived by his sons, Michael Chomanics and his wife, Laura and Mark Chomanics and his wife Suzanne; granddaughter, LeeAnn (Brandon) Meyer; and great-grandchildren, Vincent, Francis and Lillian.  Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Friday at the James W. Raymond F. Crew, 89, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019.  He was born December 15, 1929 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Frank and Sophie (Krawczyk) Kruczek.  He was a five year Army veteran during the Korean War, attended Russian Language School and served in the Army Security Agency. He was a graduate of Penn State University and upon graduation was employed by US Steel at the Edgar Thompson Works where he was  awarded an Andrew Carnegie Scholarship to attend Carnegie Tech to further his studies in electrical engineering   He was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, longtime member of North Huntingdon Democratic Club, elected democratic committee man, and longtime member of the Wilmerding YMCA.  Ray had a love for politics and nature, and was an avid gardener and feeder of all animals.  He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy Park Crew; beloved father of Jennifer Crew and her husband Andrew Davis, Rebecca Beal and her husband, Brandon, Raymond C. Crew and his wife, Erin Phelan, and Holly Crew; adored PapPap to, Amanda DiLoreto, Adam Beal, Dylan Davis; brother, Albert Kruczek; and three feline companions, Annie, Allie and Inky.   A memorial mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon.  In lieu flowers, donations may be made to Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Drive, Delmont, PA  15626  or do a kind deed for someone.  Arrangements made by the James W. John A. Sotak, age 56, of Fuqua Varina, North Carolina, formerly of North Huntingdon died October 7, 2019 at his home. He was born May 9, 1963 in Braddock, Pa., a son of Barbara Hruby  Sotak and the late John B. Sotak. John was employed as the International Director of Sales for Xylem Inc. He was a 1981 graduate of Norwin Senior High School and graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He enjoyed cooking, traveling and sports.  He is survived by his wife Julia Sotak, three sons, Tyler and Andrew Sotak, Zach Albert, one sister, Susan Hozak and her husband Mark, nieces,Krisin Consuegra (Daniel), Natalie Calhoon (Nick) great nephews and niece Tyson, Paxton and Lucy. Darrin Dene Patterson, 44, formerly of North Huntingdon, PA passed away on October 9, 2019 in Melbourne, FL. He was born June 22, 1975 in Greensburg, PA. Beloved son of Dene and Dorothy Patterson. Darrin was a member of Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne, FL where he was actively involved as the Cubmaster of Pack 373 and Arrow of Light Den Leader. He was a loving and dedicated husband and father who looked forward to scouting events, camping trips, building Lego Derby Cars,volunteering at Ascension Catholic School, and taking Tae Kwon Do with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Dene; and sister, Dalene. He is survived by his wife, Lori, cherished sons Ethan and Noah; mother, Dorothy; sister, Darlene Salmon (Jim); Uncles Gene Patterson (Patricia); Duayne Patterson (Sandy); Gary Patterson (Carole); Aunt Dana Schwaed (Donald); late Aunt Joanne McCorkle

Julia Marie Stuchel, 97, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019.  She was born June 22, 1922 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Harry and Lizabell (Sisco) McCoy.  Julia was a secretary for Alcoa and later she and Carl raised and sold Christmas trees for 40 years.  She was a member of Circleville United Methodist Church, Ridge Road Women's Club for 57 years and the Irwin Quilters Guild and enjoyed reading.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Carl Stuchel; and brother, Skip McCoy.  She is survived by her daughters, Patty Stuchel of North Huntingdon, Peggy Cunningham and her husband, Don of Pittsburgh, Connie Noel and her husband, Michael of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Jonathan (Tarah) Noel, Matthew (Kristin) Noel, Jennifer (William) Henderson and Daniel (Hannah) Noel, all of North Carolina; and 17 great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received from 1-3 to 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the James W. Edward Wyzlanski, age 92 formerly of North Huntingdon died October 11, 2019 at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born July 28, 1927 in Chalfant, a son of the late Michael and Helen Sokolowski. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner of Eddie's Photo Service in East Pittsburgh.  He was a  member of St. Agnes Church and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending weekends at his camp at Pymatuning Lake. He is survived by one sister, Apolonia "Polly" Skurnick, and was the beloved uncle to Andrew Skurnick (Janet), David Skurnick (Kathleen), Kathleen Gregg (James). Gloria Mae Brugnoli, 90, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Walden's View, North Huntingdon. She was born May 12, 1929 in Duquesne. Gloria was the owner/opeartor of Gloria's Cantina for many years. She was also the founder of All but furgotten, a no kill shelter for animals. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Brugnoli. Smith, 89, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019.  She was born July 20, 1930 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Richard J. and Margaret (McCarren) Caulfield.  Prior to her retirement, Rosemary was a consultant for AT&T Marketing Communications and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed baking pies and was a loving and devoted mother.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John P. Caulfied and Richard Caulfield; and sisters, Margaret McCusker, Patricia Balzer, Shirley Barnes, and Sarah Jane.  She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Theodore Smith; son, Theodore A. Smith and his wife, Patricia; daughter, Sharon L. Polovina and her husband, Thomas; sisters, Frances West and Kathleen Vanderveerd; grandchildren, Brandon (Michelle) Polovina, Jennifer (Robert) Mallory, Kellynn (Matthew) Krinock, Nathaniel and Trevor Smith;  great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jordyn and Noah.  Friends will be received from 2-4  and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the James W. April L. Blay, 61, of Lowber (formerly of North Huntington), passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 4, 2019. She was born March 12, 1958 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of the late Justin S. "Jack" and Diana (Hughes) Blay. Prior to her retirement, April was employed by the Arc of Westmoreland. She was a member of the Sutersville Primitive Methodist Church. She enjoyed attending the Arc dances, playing bingo, and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed swimming (especially her swimming lessons with Savannah Brown), going to the beach, shopping at the Dollar Store for her stuffed animals and glow sticks, and getting pedicures, manicures and getting her hair done. She especially enjoyed the holidays and brought so much joy into our lives with her childlike innocence and exuberance. April is survived by her extended family, Laura Rosiek and the late Victor Rosiek Jr., with whom she resided, "Gibble" Dunbar, Bonnie Egeland, Kim Dunbar, and Colleen, Gene and Alyssa Zimmerman, in addition to numerous cousins. She is survived by her companion, Kevin Conaway, and her best friends, Nikki Steban, Donna and Mark Olexick, Fran Polka, Lauren Bergman and Heather Sutton. April was our precious angel, and her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

, age 86 of North Huntingdon died October 5, 2019 at his home. He was born October 15, 1932 in Patton Township a son of the late Chester and Josephine McLean Christopher. Donald was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity in Irwin. He was a lifetime member of the Shaner Sportsmans Club, an avid hunter and a life long Steelers fan. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a production coordinator by Westinghouse Electric, East Pittsburgh and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.  He was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Kathleen T. Byrnes, an infant son, four brothers Harold, Paul, Chester Jr and Walter Christopher, one sister Margaret Henkel.  He is survived by his children, Lynn Williams and her husband, Ross, Laura Cummins and her husband, Dave, Donna Stull and her husband Herb, and David Christopher and his fiancee Coleen Tokosh; grandchildren, Lauren (Clayton) Black, Alex and Katie Walkowski, Joseph and John Tokosh; great grandson, Brody Black,  in-laws , Dianne and Frank Casorio, special friends, Dee and Sean McCarney, many loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.  Friends will be received at the James W. Sophia A. Daily, age 95,  formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away September 27, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. She was born May 15, 1924 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Casmir and Mary Kruzek Wieliczko. Sophia was a former member of St. Agnes Church where she was a Christian Mother, prior to relocating to New Port Richey, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland E. Daily; brothers, John, Edward, Frank and Stanley Welesko; and sister, Helen M. Joseph. She is survived by two sons, David R. Daily and his wife, Karen, Dennis R. Daily and his wife, Brenda; daughter, Diane D. Helen Pilipovich, 91, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019.  She was born February 10, 1928 in Duquesne, a daughter of the late John and Julia (Palagyi)  Ballas.  Helen was owner/operator of the Korner Tavern for 57 years.  She was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church, Duquesne, longtime member of the North Huntingdon Democratic Club, and VFW Post 781 Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved visiting casinos and cooking.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Pilipovich; son, Keith; brothers, John, Robert and Steve Ballas; sisters, Margaret Pivarnic, Katy Podomnik, Betty McCallum, Gazella Agopoff and Lillian Fuhoski.  She is survived by her sons, Victor Pilipovich Jr. and his wife, Linda, Stephen Pilipovich and his wife, Margaret, David Pilipovich; sisters, Pearl Cifaldi and Sally Corso; grandchildren, Meigan (Miss Priss) Nicolai, Allison (David) Guaspari, Julia (Stefan) Pellegrini, Stephanie (Shawn) Storer, David L. Conroy, 57, of Rillton, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019.  She was born June 10, 1962 in Jeannette, a daughter of Glenn and Jean (Clugsten) Minerva.  Carrie was a graduate of Hempfield Sr. High School, Class of 1980, and enjoyed baking, dancing and spending time with her family.  Carrie will be remembered for the immense love she had for her adoring family, and for her ability to light up a room with her smile. While her outer beauty was undeniable, it was her caring nature and selfless approach to life that allowed her beauty to shine inside and out. Family and friends will fondly share stories about her sticking up for her younger brothers, her willingness to take on anyone in an arm wrestling match, and the way she let loose on the dance floor.
