Charlotte Waskowicz of McKeesport, passed peacefully in the arms of her daughter, Francine, on Sunday, June 5, 2016. It is with great sadness to inform her dear family and friends of her passing. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Johanna (Szymarek) Sieracki, and the beloved wife of John Waskowicz who preceded her in death. Charlotte is survived by her loving daughter and best friend, Francine Waskowicz. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Bill Sharkey, Cathy Sharkey, Dolly (Nunzio) Chelli, Floyd (Darlene) Mandella, Arlene (Walt) Miscavage, Artie (Charlotte) Hartman, Carol Patik, Judy Madoff, Bob (Patience) Waskowicz and Marian Hrycyk; and many great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Charlotte began her career as a telephone operator and later worked as a clerk in the engineering department for Bell Telephone, from where she retired after more than 40 years of dedicated service. She was a long time parishioner of St. Mary of Czestochowa (Corpus Christi Parish), where she was a Christian Mother and member of the Ladies Aid Society and Catholic Daughters. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Corpus Christi Parish at 10 a.m. Father Michael Maranowski will officiate. (Per Charlotte's request, there will be no viewing). Michael E. Hirjak, age 87 of McKeesport, passed away on May 23, 2016 at The Gardens of Lincoln Court in North Versailles. Born March 15, 1929 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Jula) Hirjak, and beloved husband of the late Margaretta (Mastilak) Hirjak. Michael honorably served in the US Navy, and following his military service, he began his career as a Master Technician for the automotive industry. He worked for many years as the Service Manager at Devereaux Chevrolet and Tom Clark. He was also a member of the White Oak Gun Club and the National Rifle Association. Mike enjoyed playing checkers with his great-grandson Jacob and loved watching his great-granddaughter Maura dance. His talent and passion for fixing things and being an all-around handyman will be missed by many. He is survived by his daughters,  Linda M. (Gary Kiesell of White Oak) Kiesell of Liberty Boro, Patricia Ann (the late Bob) Bashore of Elizabethtown, PA and granddaughter, Stacey Tabanli; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Maura Joy Tabanli whom he adored; his loving companion, Norma Budnick; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Karabin, Helen Azzarello and Joseph Hirjak. Robert Anthony Jacobs, Sr., age 53 of McKeesport, passed away on May 23, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 1, 1963 in McKeesport, and was the beloved husband of Doreen (DelDuca) Jacobs for over 30 years. He is survived by his children, Dana (Chris) DelDuca-Cindric, Robert "Bobby" (Ashley) Jacobs, Jr., Anthony (Kristin) Jacobs and Ryan Jacobs; grandchildren, Robert Jacobs, III (Lil "B"), Allison Jacobs and Zachary Cindric; brother, Christopher (Christine) Jacobs; cousins, David (Danielle) Balog, Danny and Crystal, Sara Balog and Kayla Dimeo; nephew Brandon Jacobs; and his loving dog, Daisy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Robert worked for MTS Sales & Service as a restaurant equipment service technician for over 20 years. In his down time, he loved to hunt, fish, and ride his motorcycle. He was known to be a history buff and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan, having loved to visit PNC Park. He was a dedicated and hard working man, however his life was devoted to his family and grandchildren. He was born April 3, 1944 in McKeesport, and was preceded in death by his father Paul Petrovich and mother Hilda (Horn) Petrovich Krznaric, his son Richard Petrovich and his beloved Jane Faulkner. He is survived by his sister, Marlyn (Kenneth, Jr.) White of Phoenix, AZ; niece, Adrian (Ralph) Hensell; nephew, Andrew Paul (Erin) Shivey; aunt, Ruth Horn; and extended family Anna (Brycen) Bock, Mary (Elmer) Henderson, Fred Faulkner, and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. He served in the US Army and was a member and employee of the American Legion of White Oak. She is survived by her children, Marlyn (Kenneth, Jr.) White of Phoenix, AZ and Paul Petrovich of White Oak; grandchildren, Adrian (Ralph) Hensell and Andrew Paul (Erin) Shivey; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; beloved sister, Ruth Horn; nieces and nephews, Dolly Yutzy, Lanny Horn, Dale Willard and Frank Willard; and five generations of great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, John Horn, Marie Willard and Elsie Shively. Carl J. Kijowski, age 77 of Lewisburg, PA, formerly of Port Vue, passed away on May 12, 2016 at the Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, surrounded by his family and friends. Born May 9, 1939 in Port Vue, he was the son of Charles and Josephine (Synkowski) Kijowski, and beloved husband of Geraldine (Germak) Kijowski for 53 years.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sisters, Carol (Joe) Pollak of West Mifflin and Dolores (Art) Eagan of Pittsburgh, and many wonderful godchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles; mother, Josephine; and brother, Joseph. Carl honorably served our country in the US Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. Following his military service, he attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in West Mifflin, PA. He was employed with United Technologies/Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut for 44 years as a Field Service Engineering Representative where he traveled the world. After retiring he was employed with Wood Group/Pratt & Whitney as a Senior Executive V.P. of Engineering & Government Contracts. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 9 a.m. until time of Blessing Service at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church in McKeesport. Edmund J. Traczynski, age 84 of McKeesport, died April 24, 2016 at his home. Born July 10, 1931 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Mucha) Traczynski, and beloved husband of Dorothy (Frinsko) Traczynski for 64 years. Ed began his career as a butcher at a young age, and went on to become part owner of the J.T. Packing Company in McKeesport, where he retired from after many years of dedicated service. Following his retirement, he worked for City Foods and also served the community as a security guard at Renzie Park. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Gary Traczynski of McKeesport and Deborah Ann Traczynski of San Francisco, CA; siblings, Irene Charmo, Virginia (Sam) Greese, Maxine (Norman) Sherwood, Ruth Ann Stoffiere and John (Julia) Traczynski; also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harry and Edward Traczynski. Per Edmund's request, services will be private and are entrusted to Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory. Mike Mihalchik, Jr.

Mike Mihalchik, Jr., of Port Vue, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2016 at Forbes Regional Hospital. Mike was born on January 25, 1928 in Munhall and attended Munhall High School and later Robert Morris Business School. He also served in the United States Navy, at sea during World War II and in the Pentagon during the Korean War. Upon returning from the Navy he married Elayne Muscante and together they had three children, each married, Sheryl (Brent) Maletic, Robert (Renee) and Michael (Bonnie). Mike’s education and interest in computing made him one of the true pioneers of the computing age. In the late 1950’s IBM introduced its first general processing systems and he was tasked to learn its capabilities by the manufacturer. As a skilled systems analyst he was employed by Mesta Machine Company and later by Mesta Computing Services until his retirement. He was very proud to be a long time member of the Pittsburgh Byzantine Catholic Archieparchial Choir until Myasthenia Gravis robbed him of his ability to sing. A truly wonderful father, Dad was always a great sounding board for life’s issues. Mike is survived by a sister Dolly Suchta, and is predeceased by his wife Elayne, sister Mary Helen Cosgrove and parents Helen and Mike Mihalchik. He also has three grandchildren of whom he loved dearly, Michael, Madeline and Amy. He will be greatly missed. Joey's feeling of independence was most felt when riding his bike. It is then that he felt freedom, enjoyment and thrill, which was obvious to all who knew him.
