Barbara J. Revak

  Barbara J. Revak age 80, of West Mifflin, died Thursday, December 9, 2021, in McKeesport Hospital. She was born April 21, 1941, and was the eldest child of Leslie Revak (1912-1971) and Barbara Hegedus Revak (1916-2004). A graduate of Duquesne High School, she retired from US Steel as a corporate administrative assistant and previously had a career with Equibank.

Though she never knew them, all four of her grandparents were Hungarian immigrants, and Barb was fiercely proud of her Hungarian heritage. She and her mother even traveled back to their native villages in Hungary, where she held dual citizenship. A lifelong member of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Duquesne, she also served as its secretary and treasurer. For many, she was the face of the church, and her organizational skills and dedication will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her goddaughter Rosalyn Reeder (Tiffany) of Gulfport, MS, actively deployed in the Middle East, adopted son Jeffrey Kash (Jeff Nytch) of Boulder, CO, many dear and close cousins, and many friends who were her extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved brother Leslie Dennis Revak (1946-1982) and many dear cousins.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 12 in the Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, 212 Wilmot St., Duquesne. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 13 at the Hungarian Reformed Church, 1411 Kennedy Avenue, Duquesne, with the Rev. Dr. József Posta officiating. Burial will follow in the Hungarian Reformed Cemetery, West Mifflin.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Hungarian Reformed Church: 1411 Kennedy Avenue; Duquesne, PA. 15110.

 


James D. McCombs

James D. McCombs, 55 of Boston, Pa, died Nov. 16, 2021.  He is the son of Judith (the late Robert)  Spell and the late James R. McCombs.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister Hilary Spell; uncle Bill (Debbie) Spell; aunt Edie (the late Jack) Spell; cousin Jack III (Karen) Spell, and many other cousins; childhood friend Tim Cohlhepp and his neighbors Russ and Noah.  He is preceded in death by grandparents Anne Spell; Clyde and Genevieve Riemenschneider and Charles and Adaline Mccombs and uncles Clyde "Shorty" (Audrey) and Raymond Riemenschneider.  Jim’s proudest moment was achieving a degree from Point Park and his beloved dog “Spike”. A special thank you to the "Kane family and staff" for the love and support.   Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Fri.  from 3 to 8.  A funeral service will be held Sat. at 11:00 am at the  First Presbyterian Church in Duquesne.  Interment following Mt. Richard "Rick"Voytko, 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Monessen, on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Son of the late John and L. Jeanne Voytko, of West Mifflin. Rick was preceded in death by his brother, John ‘Jay’ Voytko. He is survived by and will be missed dearly by his sisters Paula (Joe) Bresnei, of Glenshaw, and Jeanne (Ron) Dyer of Volo, IL, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces/nephews and a loving circle of friends. Rick graduated from West Mifflin North High School in 1968. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Robert Morris University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services; and earned his Master’s Degree of Education at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Psychology and Sociology.

Dolores H. Radakovich, 98, died Friday October 29, 2021. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Wukoson. She is survived by her son Tom Radakovich; daughter-in-law Linda Radakovich; granddaughters Sara Caric and Julie Radakovich; great-granddaughter Eloise; and many loving relatives. She was preceded in death by beloved husband Sam Radakovich, and son Steven Radakovich. Dolores was a longtime member of St. Sava’s Serbian Orthodox Church. Friends received at the Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home Thursday 10am. A funeral blessing will be held at 11am. Interment following Jefferson Memorial Park.

Dolores "DoDo" Loop, 89 of Duquesne, died Oct. 23, 2021.  She is the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Legerski) Novak and sister of the late Robert Novak and Barbara Jean Hall.  DoDo was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish; Rosary Society and served as a lector.  She was a retired secretary for Westinghouse Bettis, where she worked for over 44 years.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, on Wed. from 1 to 4.  A funeral mass will be held Thurs. at 10am at Holy Name Church with Father Tom Lewandowsky.  Interment following St. Hedwig Cemetery.

  Carolyn R. Opalko, 82, of West Mifflin, died Oct. 19, 2021.  She is the daughter of the late Walter and Olga (Bodnar) Hunt.  She is survived by her beloved husband Russell Opalko; son Bryan (Carrie Zdobinski) Opalko; daughter Susan Opalko-Sommers; her granddaughter, Charlee Rae Sommers, who was her entire world; sisters Marsha (Buck) Willis and Laura DiDomenico; also nieces and nephews.  Early in life, Carolyn was a secretary and then managed her father’s tavern (Hunt’s Bar) in Duquesne.  Carolyn’s main job was raising her kids and taking care of her family, and doting on her granddaughter every chance she got.  Carolyn is a member of St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Sun. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral liturgy will be held Mon. 10:00 am at St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church. Dolores “Dolly” V. Kopay, 92, of West Mifflin, died Oct. 14, 2021.  She is the daughter of the late John and Victoria Miskanic and wife of the late Albert J. Robert "Bob" Ralph Thomas, 91, formerly of Duquesne, passed away at Kane Regional Center in McKeesport.  He was the son of the late Ronald and Edith (Lucas) Thomas of Duquesne.  Bob is survived by his brothers Kenneth of Leechburg and Glenn of Canandaigua, NY; cousin James (Ruby) Thomas of Virginia.  Known as Uncle Bob to his nieces and nephews:  Mary (Ron) Urbaniak, Ronald G. (Debbie) Thomas, Arthur (Amanda) Thomas, Matthew (Laura) Thomas, Mary Edith (Eron) Lyons; great nieces and nephews Eric and Leah Urbaniak, Christine, Ronald H. and Mitchell (Breanna) Thomas, Amber Thomas, Michael and Brennan Thomas, Lucas and Liam Lyons; great great niece Madilyn Thomas.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronald A. Thomas, Sister-in-Law Madge Thomas and Emma Thomas and lifelong companion Phyllis Rothermal.  Bob was a retired Weigh Master for US Steel Bar Mill in Duquesne, and past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Duquesne.  Bob was a gourmet cook, who enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and walking daily.  A frequent traveler, Bob has traveled all over the world and the United States.  He enjoyed hiking in many of those places includng the Rocky Mountains and the Alps of Europe.  A funeral service will be held Wed. at 11:00 am at Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne.  Interment following Southside Cemetery.

 


Lawrence "JR" Wilson, Jr

Lawrence "JR" Wilson, Jr., 85, of Monroeville, died Sept. 4, 2021.  He is the beloved husband of the late Geraldine "Geri" Wilson.  He is survived by his sister-in-law Joan Drosdick and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Crystal and son Larry. He enjoyed helping Geri taking care of her Seeing Eye German Sheperds Bouquet, Pride, Neon and Olina. JR was retired from Firestone, where he worked for 23 years and Giant Eagle where he worked for 22 years.   JR joined the Monroeville Lions Club in 1982 where he served as Club President from 2005- 2006 and then became a member of the White Oak Lions Club where he continued to be very active until his death.  He was also a member of the Wilkins Elks Lodge #577 for over 20 years and rarely missed a meeting.  He was a huge Pittsburgh sport fan, including the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.  A memorial service will be held on Sat., Sept. 11 at 11am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Monroeville outside at the gazebo.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilkins Elks Lodge #577 Scholarship Fund.

Kruszka, 78 of Glassport, died peacefully on July 7, 2021 at 4:40 pm, at Allegheny General Hospital.  He is the son of the late Valentine and Mary (Byrtus) Kruszka.  David is survived by his siblings Pat (Larry Brostkovic) Pierce, Alan Kruszka, Sandy Watson and Val Kruszka; aslo nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sisters Virginia Dzara and Andrea Teoli.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Mon. from 11 to 1.  Interment following St. Hedwig Cemetery, West Mifflin.

Eleanor Melnichak Mitrik, 97, originally from McKeesport, now residing in West Mifflin, died July 3, 2021.   God has another angel.  Beloved wife of the late Frank A. Mitrik; mother of Lucille (Bill) Holloway and Mary Lynn (Klink) Hudack; sister of the late Mary Lundie, Michael Melinchak, Helen Karpinsky and Albert "Corky" Melnichak; grandmother of Melissa, Rebecca, Daniel, Aaron and Elise; great grandmother of Isabella, Alexander, Madelyn and Alexa; aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and remembered by other special friends  She was our beloved matriarch who put her family above all else.  Friends received at the Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Wed. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral liturgy will be held Thurs. 10:00 am at St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church.  Interment following St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin.  The family would like to thank Kane Community McKeesport for their compassion and love for Eleanor.  We would also like to thank Bridges Hospice for all of their care and a special thank you to Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar for going above and  beyond ensuring Eleanor's best health and comfort throughout the years.

Harry G. Miller, 78, of West Mifflin, died June 29, 2021.  He is the son of the late John and Mildred Miller and beloved husband of the late Marie (Gorscak) Miller.  He is survived by his daughter Tina Gabrielcik; son Michael Miller, grandchildren Kimberly and Joey Gabrielcik; sisters Patricia Lucas, Laura DeBor, Kaye Timko, Sister Bridget Miller and Rita Wise; brother Joseph Miller; also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Jack Miller and James Miller. Harry was a retired material controller for Bombardier; a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish; attended Catholic Seminary High Schools in Michigan, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania; and he attended Duquesne University until enlisting in the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War. Janosik, 84, of Celebration FL, died June 21, 2021.  She is the daughter of the late Andrew and Minnie Janosik.  She is survived by her son Michael (Carol) Mavilla; sister Dolly (Harvey Amoroso) Andersen; brother Bill (Peggy) Janosik; niece Dawn Barrett and nephews Robert Andersen, James Andersen, William Janosik and Michael Janosik.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Gene Janosik and Eddie Janosik and nephew John Andersen.  Wonnetah was a graduate of Carlow College and a retired telecommunication specialist for Westinghouse; an active member of Celebrators and a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Celebration, FL.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Pa on Sun. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral mass will be held Mon. at 10:00 am at Holy Name Church.  Interment following Jefferson Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
