Robert "Bob" Ralph Thomas, 91, formerly of Duquesne, passed away at Kane Regional Center in McKeesport.  He was the son of the late Ronald and Edith (Lucas) Thomas of Duquesne.  Bob is survived by his brothers Kenneth of Leechburg and Glenn of Canandaigua, NY; cousin James (Ruby) Thomas of Virginia.  Known as Uncle Bob to his nieces and nephews:  Mary (Ron) Urbaniak, Ronald G. (Debbie) Thomas, Arthur (Amanda) Thomas, Matthew (Laura) Thomas, Mary Edith (Eron) Lyons; great nieces and nephews Eric and Leah Urbaniak, Christine, Ronald H. and Mitchell (Breanna) Thomas, Amber Thomas, Michael and Brennan Thomas, Lucas and Liam Lyons; great great niece Madilyn Thomas.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronald A. Thomas, Sister-in-Law Madge Thomas and Emma Thomas and lifelong companion Phyllis Rothermal.  Bob was a retired Weigh Master for US Steel Bar Mill in Duquesne, and past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Duquesne.  Bob was a gourmet cook, who enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and walking daily.  A frequent traveler, Bob has traveled all over the world and the United States.  He enjoyed hiking in many of those places includng the Rocky Mountains and the Alps of Europe.  A funeral service will be held Wed. at 11:00 am at Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne.  Interment following Southside Cemetery.

 


Lawrence "JR" Wilson, Jr

Lawrence "JR" Wilson, Jr., 85, of Monroeville, died Sept. 4, 2021.  He is the beloved husband of the late Geraldine "Geri" Wilson.  He is survived by his sister-in-law Joan Drosdick and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Crystal and son Larry. He enjoyed helping Geri taking care of her Seeing Eye German Sheperds Bouquet, Pride, Neon and Olina. JR was retired from Firestone, where he worked for 23 years and Giant Eagle where he worked for 22 years.   JR joined the Monroeville Lions Club in 1982 where he served as Club President from 2005- 2006 and then became a member of the White Oak Lions Club where he continued to be very active until his death.  He was also a member of the Wilkins Elks Lodge #577 for over 20 years and rarely missed a meeting.  He was a huge Pittsburgh sport fan, including the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.  A memorial service will be held on Sat., Sept. 11 at 11am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Monroeville outside at the gazebo.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilkins Elks Lodge #577 Scholarship Fund.

David W. Kruszka, 78 of Glassport, died peacefully on July 7, 2021 at 4:40 pm, at Allegheny General Hospital.  He is the son of the late Valentine and Mary (Byrtus) Kruszka.  David is survived by his siblings Pat (Larry Brostkovic) Pierce, Alan Kruszka, Sandy Watson and Val Kruszka; aslo nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sisters Virginia Dzara and Andrea Teoli.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Mon. from 11 to 1.  Interment following St. Hedwig Cemetery, West Mifflin.

Eleanor Melnichak Mitrik, 97, originally from McKeesport, now residing in West Mifflin, died July 3, 2021.   God has another angel.  Beloved wife of the late Frank A. Mitrik; mother of Lucille (Bill) Holloway and Mary Lynn (Klink) Hudack; sister of the late Mary Lundie, Michael Melinchak, Helen Karpinsky and Albert "Corky" Melnichak; grandmother of Melissa, Rebecca, Daniel, Aaron and Elise; great grandmother of Isabella, Alexander, Madelyn and Alexa; aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and remembered by other special friends  She was our beloved matriarch who put her family above all else.  Friends received at the Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Wed. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral liturgy will be held Thurs. 10:00 am at St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church.  Interment following St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin.  The family would like to thank Kane Community McKeesport for their compassion and love for Eleanor.  We would also like to thank Bridges Hospice for all of their care and a special thank you to Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar for going above and  beyond ensuring Eleanor's best health and comfort throughout the years.

Harry G. Miller, 78, of West Mifflin, died June 29, 2021.  He is the son of the late John and Mildred Miller and beloved husband of the late Marie (Gorscak) Miller.  He is survived by his daughter Tina Gabrielcik; son Michael Miller, grandchildren Kimberly and Joey Gabrielcik; sisters Patricia Lucas, Laura DeBor, Kaye Timko, Sister Bridget Miller and Rita Wise; brother Joseph Miller; also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Jack Miller and James Miller. Harry was a retired material controller for Bombardier; a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish; attended Catholic Seminary High Schools in Michigan, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania; and he attended Duquesne University until enlisting in the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War. Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral mass will be held Sat. 10:00 am at Holy Name Church.  Interment following St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin.

Wonnetah R. Janosik, 84, of Celebration FL, died June 21, 2021.  She is the daughter of the late Andrew and Minnie Janosik.  She is survived by her son Michael (Carol) Mavilla; sister Dolly (Harvey Amoroso) Andersen; brother Bill (Peggy) Janosik; niece Dawn Barrett and nephews Robert Andersen, James Andersen, William Janosik and Michael Janosik.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Gene Janosik and Eddie Janosik and nephew John Andersen.  Wonnetah was a graduate of Carlow College and a retired telecommunication specialist for Westinghouse; an active member of Celebrators and a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Celebration, FL.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Pa on Sun. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral mass will be held Mon. at 10:00 am at Holy Name Church.  Interment following Jefferson Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Grace M. Seeman,  88, of West Mifflin, died Friday June 18, 2021. She is the beloved wife of the late Paul Seeman. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Musneskis. She is survived by her daughters Candace (Arthur) Milligan, Grace (the late Wayne) Thompson; sons Paul Seeman, Bruce Seeman, and Daryl (Kathleen) Seeman; grandchildren Jason (Andrea) Thompson, Nichole Seeman, Zachary Seeman, and Olivia Milligan; and great granddaughter Aubree. Grace was a member of St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church. Private services will be held. Funeral arrangements by Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home. MariannenL. "Marney" Cosgrove

  Marianne L. “Marney” Cosgrove, 81, of West Mifflin, was born in Homestead, June 26, 1939 to Ernest and Elizabeth (Luke) Lucas. She graduated from Homestead High School in 1957 and married Roger Cosgrove on May 10, 1958. She worked as an administrative secretary at Bettis Laboratories, McKeesport Hospital, and the University of Pittsburgh. She was an avid reader, loved crafting, and had a quick and clever wit; all of which she imparted to her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roger L. Cosgrove who passed away in October 2020. Marney is survived by daughters, Tracy DeCarlo and Kelly Linn; granddaughter, Leeanne (Benjamin) Carlucci and grandson, William Smollen with whom she had a special bond.

Marney passed away peacefully knowing that her family loved her, and in her words, she will always be “a constant source of amusement.”

Per her wishes a private service will be held. ARRANGEMENTS BY TEICHART-GRACAN FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.

Andrew M. Ferencz, 70, of West Mifflin, died June 9, 2021. He is the son of the late Andrew and Ann (Babjak) Ferencz.  He is survived by his wife Connie (Cortazzo) Ferencz; daughters Shari (David) Horne of West Mifflin and Annie (Eric) Beeson of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren Hunter, Owen and Erin and brother Ronald P. Ferencz of West Mifflin.  He was also preceded in death by sisters Marlene Goedeke and Kathy Lesko.  Andrew was retired from both US Steel and Alco Parking Authority and was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle, formerly St. Agnes Church.  Friends will be received at Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, on Mon. June 14, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral mass will be held Tues. 10:00 am at  St. Agnes Church.  Interment following Holy Name Cemetery. Sally M. Scalise, 90, of West Mifflin died March 12, 2020.  She is the daughter of the late Louis and Gisel (Lucas) Juhasz and beloved wife of the late Frank V. Scalise.  Sally is survived by her daughter Nicolette (Kevin) Laster; sons Mark Scalise and Gregory Scalise; grandson Jaxson Scalise; also nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her son Frank C.   Edward F. Welsh, 86, of Jefferson Hills, died May 22, 2021.  Edward was the third of 11 siblings born to Fritz and Agnes Welsh in Natrona, Pa.  He leaves behind his former wife Mary Welsh; daughter Michelene Welsh; son Rick Welsh; grandchildren Sara and Aaden; wife Teresa Conboy; step sons Brian (Tricia) Conboy and Chris (Jady) Conboy; step grandchildren Mark, Steven, Gabriel, Gannon, Talia and Reesa; siblings Dot (the late Dick) Modzelewski, Mary Agnes "Sis" (Vince) Valeri, Bern (the late Louis) Stipic, Bert (Jenny) Welsh, Peg (the late Gary) Pflugfelder, Kathy Welsh and Zita (the late James) Como.  He was preceded in death by siblings John Welsh, Joe Welsh, and Roy Welsh.  Ed attended St. Joseph grade school and high school.  He then attended the Naval Academy of Annapolis.  Upon graduation, he went on to serve his country in the AirForce, working on their missile systems.  With his service time completed he embarked on earning his law degree at the University of Pittsburgh specializing in patents and litigation.  He became a partner in the firm of Parmalee, Miller, Welsh & Kratz, working with many Pittsburgh companies including Heinz and Dravo.  He found great joy in hunting and fishing or just enjoying what he called,"the great cathedral of the sky."  A memorial mass will be held Friday, May 28 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 11:30 am.  Funeral arrangements by Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne.

James H. Rickard, Sr., 87, of West Mifflin, died May 6, 2021.  He is the son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Kottler) Rickard and beloved husband of the late Ida Mae (Herder) Rickard.  He is survived by his children James H. Rickard of Lake City, Pa, Judy (Jack) Fouser of West Mifflin, Dr. David J. Rickard of Kure Beach, NC and Dory J. Rickard of White Oak; grandsons  Brett (Dina) Fouser, Brian Fouser and Brad Fouser; great granddaughters Brynn and Dessa; brother Samuel Vincent Rickard, sisters Marie  Hamilton and Dorothy Cancilla; also nieces  and nephews.  Jim was retired from Bell Telephone Company where he worked for over 40 years; was a member of Bell Telephone Workers Credit Union; and was very involved with Duquesne High School Reunion Committee.  Anyone who knew Jim, loved Jim.
