Penelope S. Morgan, 79, of North Huntingdon passed away May 25, 2024, peacefully in her home having been surrounded by her family and loved ones in the days before her passing. She was born March 13, 1945, in McKeesport to the late Alfred and Frances Sayers.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 55 years Gerald T. Morgan. An everlasting love from the moment they first met. Her three wonderful and loving sons, Lee, Brett (Katie) and Tate (Julie), though it did take her a broken wooden kitchen spoon or two to make them wonderful. Her loving grandchildren, Emery, Lily, Isabella, Leyton, Asher and Meredith as well as many loving In-laws, nieces and nephews. Mindy M. (Bickerstaff) Colligan, 60, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024. She was born October 16, 1963 in McKeesport, a daughter of Donna M. (Pepper) Bickerstaff and the late Ronald L. Bickerstaff, and was also preceded in death by her husband David Colligan. She worked as a beautician, and enjoyed spending time at the family camp in Big Bear Lake, WV. She was a sports fan who liked going to Steelers Games, and her music selection of choice was loud rock n roll. She is survived by her son Johnathan Wargo (Alexa Shoup) of Greensburg, and daughter Shannon Wargo of Jeannette; sister Lisa Vandervort (Bill Blair) of Greensburg; and niece Celeste Begandy (Bryan Hladycz). Carl O. Dickson Jr., 90, of East McKeesport, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024. He was born July 25, 1933 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Carl O. and Margaret (Weber) Dickson and was also preceded in death by his sister Janet D. Noel and brother in-law Wilbur “Bo” Swanhart. Carl was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Versailles, and was an Army veteran who served in the Korean War. He received a bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and taught at Church Hill Area School District prior to his retirement. He was a member of VFW Post 5008, East Pittsburgh, and was a member of White Oak American Legion 701.

Paul R. “Skip” Magill, 83, of Irwin, died Wednesday May 1, 2024. He was born June 28, 1940 in Greensburg, the son of the late Paul W. and Mary Evelyn (Heffelfinger) Magill and was also preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years Sandra L. (Brandau) Magill. Skip was a graduate of Hargrave Military Academy, Chatham, VA, and worked as a diesel mechanic for 43 years at Lincoln Coach Lines, North Huntingdon, and then worked for A & M Security before retiring. He was a life member of the NRA and a member of the Pennsylvania Gun Collectors Association. He loved flea markets and was a collector.

Michael J. Wieger, 78, of North Huntingdon, died Wednesday May 1, 2024. He was born December 1, 1945 in San Francisco, Calif., a son of the late Robert E. and Olive Jean (Bruley) Wieger and was also preceded in death by his son Special Agent Staff Sgt. David A. Wieger, killed in action in Iraq in 2007. Mike was a retired millwright for Latrobe Steel and was a longtime active member of Norwin Christian Church, North Huntingdon. Mike was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and enjoyed woodworking and fixing anything mechanical. He is survived by his loving wife of over 52 years, Lori R. (Harper) Wieger; his son Michael J. Wieger Jr. and his wife Brenda of Port Vue; his siblings Robert Wieger of Mexico, Geraldine “Geri” Hartsfield of Florida and William Wieger of California; also brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

William "Bill" Charmo, age 87, of North Huntingdon. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn his passing on April 26, 2024. Bill passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 22, 1936, at home in Duquesne, he was the cherished son of Michael and Helen Charmo. A multisport athlete, Bill graduated from Duquesne High School, where he left an impression on the field and in the memories of his classmates.
Bill married his beloved wife, Nancy Martin Charmo, on January 4, 1958, at Holy Name Church in Duquesne. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories.

Robert L. Dandar Sr., 78, of North Versailles, passed away Thursday April 18, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born March 26, 1946, in McKeesport, a son of the late Edward and Josephine (Vistal) Dandar, and was also preceded in death by his brother Ronald Dandar and sister Nancy Marghella. Bob was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish. Prior to retirement he worked for 20 years for North Versailles Township Public Works Dept., enjoyed 15 years driving school bus, and also painted for 50 years. He may have even painted your house.
Bob was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and his dogs at Smith Grove Campground, Butler, where he was known as “Bingo Bob” for his love of calling bingo games.
Bob is survived by his wife Carolyn A. (Karnash) Dandar; his children Barbara L. (Mark) Urbano of Ingram, Robert L. (Jessica) Dandar Jr. of North Versailles, Edward V. (Susan) Dandar of Claridge, Keith J. (Lisa) Dandar of Irwin, and Ronald D. Elaine C. (Mooney) Allen, age 79, of East McKeesport passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024. She was born February 4, 1945 in Braddock, a daughter of the late William Mooney and Irene (Curtis) Gingery. She enjoyed working in retail sales at Fashion Bug in the East Land Mall before it closed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 28 years William J. Gary J. Capaccione, 71, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday March 26, 2024. He was born January 16, 1953 in Braddock, a son of the late Peter A. Capaccione Sr. and Florence M. (Macura) Capaccione and was also preceded in death by his brother Peter A. Capaccione Jr. Gary was a retired mechanic working for the American Motors dealership in Wilkinsburg and then Acutus Gladwin in East Pittsburgh. Gary was a good hearted person and neighbor who was a caregiver for his late mother and also cared for stray animals. He liked cars and hot-rodding. He is survived by his brother Daniel J. William “Bill” P. Bone II, age 73, of North Huntingdon, passed away March 26, 2024. He was born July 26, 1950 in Bethesda, Maryland, a son of the late William P. and Shirley June Marie (Howard) Bone. He was a 22 year Army veteran that specialized in tank maintenance and served in many locations including Germany and Alaska. After the military he worked in maintenance for 5 years at Kmart. Bill enjoyed owning and racing 4 cylinder stock cars while living in Louisiana. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Lyle Bone and Thomas O’Neal. She was born August 18, 1923, in North Huntingdon, a daughter of the late Jessiah and Myrtle (Billingsley) Gongaware. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl A. Leonard “Leo” H. McCurdy, age 80, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024. He was born March 5, 1944 in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Cyrus and Christine (Long) McCurdy. He had his own furniture refinishing and repair company for over 25 years and drove school bus for Penn Trafford. Leo was hard working, loved gardening, camping and riding his motorcycle. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Thomas and George McCurdy; and sister Nellie Lehr. He is survived by his wife of over 59 years Linda L. Gail (Platt) Altman, 82, of Irwin, died Monday March 18, 2024, at home. She was born November 9, 1942 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Ralph Francis and Edwina (DeWalt) Platt and was also preceded in death by a brother Gordon Platt. Gail received a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and was a retired English teacher for the Norwin School District. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin, and also a member of the Women’s Club, the Book Club, the Welcome Wagon, Sweet Adelines, and The Muses theater group. She authored two books, Tales from Tinker Run and Irwin Abstracts, wrote poetry, and taught music at the Norwin YMCA.
