Janice R. Herrmann, age 78, of Glassport, formerly of McKeesport, died March 8, 2025, at Jefferson Hospital. She was born July 23, 1946, in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Wilbert Helsel of Glassport and Florence (Piper) Helsel of Port Vue and mother of the late Gene "Butchie" Herrmann of Glassport.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Eugene "Butch" of Glassport; sister, Elaine (Charlie) Sciarra of Steubenville, Ohio; and friend Donna Martinelli; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. In addition to her parents and son, she is also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Helsel.

She was a 1964 graduate of McKeesport Senior High School. She attended First Evangelical Free Church in McKeesport. Janice owned and operated "Gene's Lounge" in Glassport for 17 years. She retired as a one-on-one with the A.I.U. at Mon Valley School in Jefferson Hills.  As per Janice's wishes, no visitation will be held.
