Dorothy J. (Chorey) DeFelice age 91, formally of McKeesport, died November 5, 2020, at Independence Court in Monroeville under the care of Allegheny Health Network Hospice. Born November 27, 1928, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Sandusky (Samudovsky) and wife of the late Ralph T. DeFelice.

Dorothy graduated from McKeesport High School and then worked at G.C. Murphy at their home office. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish. She also was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post #701, White Oak Seniors, and White Oak AARP. Dorothy loved to cook, and everyone will miss her homemade Slovak dishes like stuffed cabbage, bobalki, nut and apricot rolls, cakes, and cookies. In her free time, she enjoyed attending her grandson's band concerts, soccer, and baseball games.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Douglas (Nancy) Chorey of Bellvue, WA, and devoted daughter and caretaker, Marcia (Bruce) Nelson of White Oak; grandsons, Matthew Nelson and Adam (Jessica) Nelson; granddaughters, Sarah Chorey and Ann (Chorey) Hiatt; great-grandson, Theodore Nelson; sister-in-law, Louise Faulkner; many nieces and nephews and beloved great-grand dog, Denver.
In addition to Dorothy's parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Chorey, sister, Anne Kozar, and twin-sister, Irene Girhiny.
Friends and family may be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, November 12, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., in St. Patrick Church officiated by the Rev. Vincent P. Velas.
Committal prayers and burial will follow in New St. Joseph's Cemetery of North Versailles.
We will be following CDC guidelines such as requiring masks and practicing social distancing.
