Grace Marie Chalmer “Sis” Theis, age 98, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, November 20, 2019.  She was born in McKeesport on November 29, 1920 and is the daughter of the late Walter and Helen Robinson Cheshire and the wife of the late John C. Theis. 

She enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.  She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Michael) Landosky of Latrobe; brother, Jack Theis of Elizabeth; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; also nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by brothers, William Guiser, and Charles, Carmen and Ronald Sachs.

Leona M. (Scavnicky) Marszalek, 95, of Wilmerding, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019. She was born January 5, 1924 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Slavkovsky) Scavnicky. She was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Church, Wilmerding, worked as a salesperson for Woolworth’s, was a cafeteria worker at Westinghouse High School, Wilmerding, and was a docent at the Westinghouse Castle. Leona enjoyed crochet, painting, writing poetry, baking, playing the piano and guitar, walking in Wilmerding Park, and spending time with her family.

Amado Anthony Gorham, 25, of Homestead, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at home. He was born August 6, 1994 in Oakland, California and was the son of Kathleen Joyce Gorham. Amado worked as a greeter at Walmart.  Amado found his foster father, Paul Hunter at Auberle of McKeesport. Amado ran up to Paul's car, at the time a complete stranger, as he was leaving from volunteering with other children. Amado yelled " Mr. Paul, Mr. Paul, I heard about you." Paul stopped the car, and the little boy barely tall enough to see in the car window said "Mr. Paul, will you foster me?" At that moment, Amado stole Paul's heart and shortly after fostering began.

He is the son of the late Alfred and Rose (Kahler) Kremer; brother of the late Alfred, Elmer, Robert and Walter Kremer.  He is survived by many nephews and nieces and relatives in Germany.  He served in the Korean War.  Thank you to the staff at Southwestern VA Home and Kindred Hospice.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Mon. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral blessing will be held Tues. 11:00 am in the funeral home.  Interment following St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin.

Elaine (Mimi) Valecko, age 89, of Port Vue, died November 17, 2019. She was born on October 18, 1930, in Uniontown, PA. She was the daughter of the late John and Mollie (Marva) Putanko. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Valecko and her brother, John R. Putanko.
Elaine graduated from South Union High School in Uniontown. Elaine was a member of St. Mark Parish, where she retired after serving over 30 years as housekeeper.

She loved trips to Disney, The Meadows, The Rivers, Atlantic City and Las Vegas. During her long sickness her family is grateful for all the time that was spent together.

She had been living with her daughters, spending her time between Orlando, Florida and Winder, Georgia.  She really loved spending time with all of her family and gave us all many wonderful memories. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Nicholas DeMarino and two sisters, Angelina Cherpak and Rose Vito.

He is also survived by a loving daughter Kristen (Scott) Parnell, a sister Roxanne Anson, a grandson, Tyler Parnell and a great niece, Emma Yerecic. Also survived by his best four-legged pet dogs Hailey and Polly and granddog Daisy. He also was preceded in death by a loving nephew Matthew Yerecic.
