Dolores Marie “Dolly” (Mihalic) Gondos, 81, of Elizabeth Township, died Saturday, February 3, 2018. She was born June 13, 1936 in Donora and was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary A. (Kosko) Mihalic. She was a member of St. Patrick Parish in Christy Park. Dolly was a retired Library Aide for the Elizabeth Forward School District and had previously worked for US Steel and Columbia Gas in Donora. She enjoyed her ladies card club, working crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and NCIS, and trying to figure out the clues to where the Daily News Easter Egg was hidden. She was an avid Steelers and Notre Dame fan. She loved holiday get-togethers with family, beach vacations in Outer Banks, NC, and the annual Gondos family reunion. In her younger days, she enjoyed canning tomatoes and making the best pizza sauce around – her recipe was even published in the local newspaper!

Sandra (Sandy) Tison of West Mifflin passed away on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018. She was born in McKeesport on August 21, 1954, daughter of the late Bernard Tison and late Rita Furlong. She was predeceased in death by her niece and godchild, Carrie Ann Gross and her step-mother Patricia Tison and step-sister Debra Oskin. She is survived by her sister Pattie (Charles) Gross, nephews Charles (Denise) Gross, Michael (Kara) Gross and Scott Gross; also 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew; step-brothers Keith Daugherty and Kenneth Daugherty, many cousins and step-nephews. She was previously employed by U.S. Steel Duquesne Works and was a Market Research Interviewer at Waraback Research for 21 years. She also worked at Riverside Nursing Center. But the job she loved the most was being a caretaker for the elderly in their homes. Family and friends will be received at Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Glassport on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10 am at Queen of the Rosary Church. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery in Port Vue. She was born November 6, 1928 in Ardara and was the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Hawk Pogue. Christine had a wonderful family. She loved life, her family, family events and traveling. She also had a love for animals. For many years Christine was employed as a legal secretary in Pittsburgh. She graduated from Trafford High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Whiteman, son, Richard Whiteman, great grandson Michael Morningstar, two brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Janice (William) Hohn of Cranberry Twp, daughter-in-law, Lynanne Whiteman of Liberty Borough, granddaughter Jacquelyn Hobbs, grandson Scott Salvatore, sisters, Mary Eleanor Yelincic and Alma Stone, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
