Marie Virginia Killian Race, 86, of Elizabeth Township, died Friday, September 29. 2017. She was born November 17, 1930 at home on 28th Street in Christy Park and was the daughter of the late Peter and Marie Kreson Killian. She was the wife of the late Thomas Edward Race, Jr. who passed away March 15, 2013. They were married for 60 years. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Romanian Byzantine Church, Christy Park, where she was a former choir director, and bulletin preparer. She also designed pass outs and announcements, participated in cooking dinners, bake sales, bingos and various other money raising projects. Marie was active in International Village, She took part in the first festivity in 1960, and helped design Romanian floats and booths until 1975. At the 2009 Village, Marie was recognized for having designed the first International Village symbol in 1960 and was honored and given a "key to the city" from Mayor Brewster.

William J. Brown, age 90, of North Huntingdon, passed way Friday, September 29, 2017. He was born July 12, 1927 in Harrison City, a son of the late Harry and Mary (Lauffer) Brown. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marine and the Army during the occupation forces after WWII, and went on to be a tool and die worker at Fisher Auto Body in Dravosburg before retiring. He enjoyed traveling, especially to his trailer in Holiday, Florida. He was also a past member of the Elks in Harrison City.

Frank Cosharek, 99, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday September 23, 2017. He was born January 27, 1918 in Johnstown, a son of the late John and Mary (Prunchak) Cosharek. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane (Mlinarchik) Cosharek, sons James Cosharek and Kenneth Cosharek, and siblings Ann Lavely, Catherine Cosharek, Michael Cosharek, and Nicholas Cosharek who was killed during WWII. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a retired foreman for U.S. Steel, Vandergrift, and an Army Veteran of WWII participating in the Normandy invasion and the European Theater.
