Florence A. Horvath, Age 90 of East McKeesport passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021. She was born January 7, 1931. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Julius M. Horvath, and her parents, Maurice and Helen McCarthy, her brothers, Maurice and John McCarthy, and her sisters, Eleanor Volturno and May Helen Kramer, and her son in law, John Bruno. She is survived by her children, Debra Bruno of Greensburg, Ardele Dull of North Versailles, Mark Horvath of White Oak, Jim Horvath, Joanne Horvath of Williamsburg, Virginia, Bill Horvath of White Oak, Mary Ann Bargiel, Richard Bargiel of White Oak and Richard Horvath of East McKeesport.
She was loved by 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was a member of Saint Robert Bellarmine Church for 62 years, which is now Mary Mother of God Parish. She was a devout Catholic who revered the Blessed Mother.

Gail (Bobich) Pristera, 79, formerly of North Versailles Twp., passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in Kissimmee, Florida.
Gail was born December 2, 1941, in Braddock, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late George Bobich and Mary Cvihanovich. Gail was the loving mother of, and is survived by, her children Lisa Saunders, Lori Pristera, Richard Pristera, Leslie (Preston) Pristera-Lee. She was a doting grandmother to Dylan Zayonc, Daniel Molina, Gabrielle Pristera, Morgan Molina, Madison Pristera, Duvall Lee, Shakari Lee, and Great-Grandmother to Ryker Zayonc. Gail was the devoted sister to Wayne (Pauline) Bobich, Marie DiNardo, Gina (Larry) Leo, and Michael (Jane) Mikulich. She was the caring Godmother to Jennifer Calabrese and a loving Aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Nancy M. (Paton) Miracle, 88, died August 4, 2021. Born September 28, 1932, Nancy raised two beautiful daughters, Lynn Carol Miracle and Lori Miracle Bromberger and her husband Kenneth Bromberger; adoring grandmother of Jamie Lynn Bromberger. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in passing by her parents, Richard Hall Paton Sr. and Margaret (Douglas) Paton, brothers, David Douglas Paton, Robert Douglas Paton, and Richard Hall Paton Jr. (surviving wife Carol) and former husband, Paul L. Miracle.
Nancy was retired from the former Thrift/Eckerd Pharmacy in Monroeville, PA. She was very proud of her Scottish Heritage and loved her family and friends, especially her granddaughter, Jamie. Her greatest joy in life was the time spent with her family. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Elias “Lester” Betras, 94 of Wilmerding peacefully passed on July 30, 2021. Lester was the son late James and Anna Betras. He was the loving father of Juanita (late Frank) Wolfe, Christopher (Jody) Betras, Ann (Tom) Hargenrader, the late Joseph Betras and their sister, Valerie (Darrin) Causey. He was the proud grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 6. Lester was a proud United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the Wilmerding Fire Dept. with over 40 years of service. Lester worked for the Westinghouse Airbrake in the shipping department. In his spare time, Lester was an avid gardener and a member of the Monroeville/Pitcairn Sportsman Club.

Harry "Butch" Slick, 75, of North Versailles Twp. died June 26, 2021, peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.
Born May 11, 1946 in Rankin, PA, he was the son of the late Irene Slick and George Blazevich. Beloved brother of Marie Cindric and the late Eugene(Corinne) Slick. Beloved husband of Jacqueline Smith. Loving father of Laurie Rudolf, James, David (Kimberly), Jennifer & Jason Slick. Grandfather of Jason, Allen, Chris & Ambrosia. Great Grandfather of Mya and Declan. Dolores "Do" (Yelochan) Olszewski, 84, died Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the age of 87. Born April 2, 1934, Do was the devoted wife of the late Stanley “Tim” Olszewski. Loving mother of Shawn (Anita Villasenor) Olszewski; adoring grandmother of Hunter and Courtney Olszewski.
In addition to her husband, Do was preceded in passing by her parents, Frank and Rose Yelochan. Do was very devout in her faith. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.

Jean (Berkovitz) Falce, 91, formerly of North Versailles. She spent the last nine years living with her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. Jean died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones, and her favorite cat, Stewie. Wife of the late Reynold Falce. Loving mother of Lisa (Carl) Tuscan and the late Lori (surviving Tom) Wratcher. Grandmother of Gina Tuscan (Greg Buchko).
Everyone was always welcome at her house, and you were guaranteed a great meal. She loved to have time with her family. One of her favorite holidays was Christmas Eve and having the feast of the seven fishes with her family.
The family would like to thank Angels for the Elderly and Gallagher Hospice. Thanks to Jean’s loving caregivers, Renee, Bobbi, Kathy, her nurse’s aide Jocelyn, and her amazing nurse, Kimmy.

David Given Sr., 73, of North Versailles Twp. died May 28, 2021. Born May 27, 1948. Son of Alexander and Gertrude Given. Lived in North Versailles all his life. Graduated from high school in Wilmerding. Started working at Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh. He was drafted into the Army. He spent 15 months in Vietnam. He earned 2 Bronze Stars. He returned to his job and worked there for a total of 23 years, before they shut down.
He joined the VFW in 1969. He became very active in the organization. He held several offices before becoming the first Vietnam Veteran to become Post Commander. He was a life member of the VFW. He was the Adjutant and Bar Manager. He also was a Life Member of American Legion Post 701 in White Oak. He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose #86. He met his wife, Nancy in 1970. They married in September of 1970.

Bernie was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School in 1957. Dedicated 33 years at Wabtec working for AVI Food Services. She loved playing cards, bingo and watching Jeopardy. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Robert “Whitey” Wiest, 76, died May 9, 2021, with his loving family at his side. Whitey was the loving husband of Marlene (DePaoli) Wiest; father of Tara Pierce and Noel Wiest; grandfather of Ashley Bittner. Whitey enjoyed watching sports, especially the Auburn Tigers. Betty (Saula) Beresford, 83, peacefully passed on May 5, 2021, with her loving family at her side. Betty was the loving mother of Deborah Howatineck, Kirk Beresford, Doug (Jennifer) Beresford and Scott Beresford. William “Bill” Tucci, 78, of Baldwin Health Center, formerly of East McKeesport, died April 23, 2021. He was born on April 23, 1943 and was a son of the late Leonard Tucci Sr. and Mary (Venuto) Tucci. Bill was also preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Michael, Albert, Leonard, John and James, and sisters, Louise Comunale and Edith Tucci. He is survived by brother, Richard Tucci of North Huntingdon and his sister Mary Woody of North Huntingdon.
Bill was a good-natured person with a sense of humor and was very well liked by all his friends. He was a huge fan of his many nieces and nephews and loved them very much. They were the highlight of his life.
Bill worked in construction along with his brothers and took much pride in his work. Christmas was his most favorite time of year. He drove to Maryland with a friend where they cut down Christmas trees and hauled them back to sell.
Later in life with failing health it became necessary for him to live in personal care homes. In 2020 he was a patient at Baldwin Health Center, Pittsburgh. He received excellent health care there until he was called home to be with God on his birthday, April 23, 2021. He will be missed by those who loved him.

Margaret A Ily, 86 of Wilmerding, died peacefully on Friday April 9, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Lena (Ingagliato) Cortazzo. The wife of late Raymond Ily. Loving mother to Carleen (Paul) Gagetta and Dominick Ily. Adoring grandmother to Maria Margaret Gagetta; sister of the late Patrick (surviving Lois) Cortazzo and Helena (Larry) Sobek. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and special friend Dolores Krisher (Sissy).
Margaret was a retired Nurses Aide at Braddock Hospital. Her heart was filled with care and kindness her entire life. Margaret is especially remembered by her homemade spaghetti sauce and pizzelles. Her family will continue traditions for years to come.
The family would like to thank LGAR Health & Rehabilitation for their wonderful care and compassion to Margaret since 2015.

Eleanor was an artist and musician whose talents came naturally. She even had an art show while at Manor Care nursing home. She also liked learning to ballroom dance, enjoyed cake decorating, and the care of her plants, also she loved her dear cats, and dogs!
