Evette LaRosa Anderson Wivagg, died Friday, October 27, 2023, at Redstone Highlands, North Huntingdon, PA at the age of 99. Wife of the late Richard A. Anderson and the late DeWayne (Dewey) A. Wivagg, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph M. LaRosa and Mary E. Reed LaRosa, her sister, Anna LaRosa Hornfeck, and her son, Reed K. Anderson. She is survived by her son, Richard A. Anderson (Helen) of Bethlehem, PA, granddaughters, Lauren (Raymond) Midlam of Bethlehem, PA and Ashley Anderson of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by two great grandsons and nieces, nephews and friends.
A former employee of Bell Telephone, she served with the British Army Staff during WW II, and was managing partner of R.A. Anderson Plumbing & Heating for 40 years. She was a member and trustee of the First United Methodist Church and a member of Beulah Park Methodist Church. She was Past President of United Methodist Women, Chairman of the Finance Committee, member of Memorial Corner and Martha’s Circle, Chairman of Meals on Wheels Steering Committee, Charter Member and Past Matron of the White Oak Chapter, Order of Eastern Star and Past District Deputy Grand Matron. A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Welcome Club Alter Guild, McKeesport Ladies Caravan, Wimodausis Club, and McKeesport Hospital Junior Committee. She was Past Chairman of the Board and a volunteer at the McKeesport Heritage Center and organizer of its Helen Richey celebration.
She enjoyed numerous church activities, assisting with numerous fundraising events and entertaining friends and family. Private entombment will take place at Jefferson Memorial Park. Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service to celebrate her wonderful life is planned in the near future.
