Judith L. Fry, "Judie", age 79, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024, at AHN Forbes Regional Hospital. She was born November 6, 1944, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Helen (Mann) Anderson and wife of the late Donald L. Fry.

 

Judie graduated from McKeesport High School in 1962 and worked for the G.C. Murphy Company. Upon the birth of her daughter, she stayed home to be a devoted wife and mother. After her daughter graduated from college, she was employed with Penn State Housing and Food Service at Penn State McKeesport. Judie loved to help people. She was a volunteer for the Penn State McKeesport Alumni Society and the American Cancer Society. She was a proud member of the Parrotheads for a Cure Team for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of McKeesport.

Judie was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star Clairton Chapter 316 and she was the recipient of an Honorary Alumni Award from the Penn State McKeesport Alumni Society.  Judie’s favorite place to be was cooking in her kitchen as she loved to prepare and cook meals for her family. Judie's husband was a truck driver, and she had the opportunity to travel with him on a few cross-country trips. She also enjoyed taking family vacations to Conneaut Lake and the beaches of Ocean City and Viriginia Beach.

Judie is survived by her daughter, Denise L. Fry; sister, Nancy Heveker; brother, Jack Anderson, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Louise Gavigan, Carol Kirschner (Bill), and Dorothy Fry; brothers-in-law, Jack Fry (Theresa) and Davis "Porky" Fry (Jean); many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
