Born with an innate talent, Roy was a carpenter who possessed the remarkable ability to build and fix anything. Whether it was constructing a sturdy structure or tackling complex plumbing, woodworking, electrical, or car maintenance tasks, Roy approached every project with unwavering dedication and skill.
Beyond his crafting abilities, Roy was a cherished Port Vue Memorial American Legion Post 447 member, where he formed lifelong friendships. A man of simple pleasures, he enjoyed a coffee or beer with friends.
One of Roy's greatest passions was his love for World History, particularly his profound interest in the events and stories surrounding World War II. As a dedicated student of history, he enriched his understanding of the past. Roy's extensive knowledge and storytelling captivated all who engaged with him.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Lynn Baird; grandchildren, Daniel (Nicole) Baird and Emily (Jeffrey) Loeb; great-granddaughters, Olivia and Isabelle. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by sisters Grace Kontz and Ruth Beech and his longtime companion, Gloria Loutitt. A Memorial Mass will be held at Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Eugene Church, on Saturday February 17, 2024 at 11:30am. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.
