Lester Earl Maurer, Jr., 88, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024. He was born June 14, 1935 in Greenock and was the son of the late Lester Maurer, Sr., and Gertrude Beatrice (Taylor) Maurer. He found a second family as a patron of the Pittsburgh Renaissance festival, and even earned a spot in the royal parade among the cast and crew. He played baseball for Christy Park Methodist and was retired from the Equitable Gas Co.
He is survived by daughters, Theresa (Frank) Yanosky of West Newton, Mary (James) Obley of McKeesport and son, Lester E Maurer, III, of McKeesport, brother, Ronald (Val) Maurer of McKeesport, grandchildren, Melissa (George) Brubaker, Danielle (Jesse) McLaughlin, Melanie (Joe) Cerro, Jessica (Anthony) Yanosky, Matthew (Kayla) Yanosky, Myles ( Justyne) Kelly, and Dustin (Emily) Obley, great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kirsten, Dylan, Kylie, Averyann, Addyson, Oliver and Emma, nieces and nephews.
