David J. Burkhart, age 43, of McKees Rocks, formerly of McKeesport, died June 28, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital. Born July 18, 1980, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Frank and Janet (Wilson) Burkhart and the partner of Melanie Gajdzik.

Known for his culinary talents honed over many years working in various restaurants, most recently at Denny's, David brought joy to many through his delicious creations. Beyond the kitchen, he found solace and excitement in watching hockey, football, and baseball, as well as indulging in his favorite pastime of playing sports video games.

With a contagious enthusiasm for sports and a passion for cooking, David touched the lives of those around him with his warm and welcoming spirit. His dedication to his craft and his love for all things sports made him a treasured friend to many.

In addition to Melanie, he is survived by a son, Xavier Cannon; aunts, Doreen Mixter and Joyce Surdyk; uncle, Dave Burkhart; close friends, Rob Simconis and Justin "Clap" Clapperton; his beloved cat and dog, Hurricane and Bobby and nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, July 13 at 12pm until the service at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.
