Mary Ann Sobeck, age 89 of North Huntingdon, passed away on February 22, 2025 at Independence Westmoreland Hospital. She was born on August 5, 1935 in Glassport, a daughter of the late John and Mary Kopchinski Gniazdowski . Mary Ann was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as the chief financial officer at John's Floral and Greenery. Mary Ann looked forward to watching Jeopardy and she liked to read Agatha Christie mystery novels. Most of all, she loved to watch her children and grandchildren play sports. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Gniadowski, and a son in law, Thomas Tkach. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 68 years Michael Sobeck, a son Michael B. Sobeck (Pam), three daughters Cynthia Tkach, Janet O'Dell (Paul), Mary Ann Stephenson (Jerry), one brother Frank Gniazdowski, a sister Stella Lokash (Robert), 7 grandchildren Sean O'Dell, Dori McGrew, Cheryl Tkach, Mark Stephenson, Michael Sobeck, Grace Sobeck, and Courtney Stephenson, and a great-grandchild on the way. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. Agnes Church on Thursday at 10 AM with interment to follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in Mary Ann's name to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
