Pete Penick, 96, of McKeesport, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born on July 5, 1928, he was the son of the late Mike and Fannie (Egnot) Penick. In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Delivuk.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Janet "Sis" Penick (Schank); children, Janet Merk, Sharon (Joseph) Maxwell, and Peter Penick; cherished grandchildren, Amy (Joseph) Chiaverini, David (Mellisa) Puskaric, Danyel Kelly, Brooke Kelly, Gary Keller Jr., Rachael Penick, and Sarah Penick. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
Pete was a Korean War veteran, having served his country with honor and dedication. His time in the military shaped his character, and he carried those values throughout his life, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him. Following his military service, Pete eventually retired from his career at Fort Pitt Steel Casting Co.
Pete loved to tend to his garden, cook delicious meals, and relax with a crossword puzzle. Pete's legacy lives on through his family, who will forever remember his quick wit and the many memories they have shared.
To respect Pete's wishes, a funeral service will not take place. However, the family would like to express gratitude for the support and love shown during this time.
