Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | April 12, 2025

Mary Catherine Marvin, age 84 of Monroeville and formerly of Dravosburg, passed away peacefully in Forbe's Regional Hospital Tuesday morning April 1, 2025 following a series of health related setbacks over the past several months.

Mary was married for 61 years to the late John Marvin Sr. whose death preceded her in early 2022.

She was born on April 23rd 1940 to the late Charles Wilson Sr and his wife Catherine in Oakmont Pennsylvania.

Mary is survived by her two children John Marvin Jr. of Hopewell Township and Beth Ann Leidemann of Brentwood. A grandson Derek (Kattiana) Leidemann of Hampton Township and a great grand daughter Kathalena Leidemann also of Hampton Township.

She is survived by a sister Donna Wieand of Hagerstown Maryland, a brother John (Dixie) Wilson of West Mifflin, and Brother-in-law Melvin Aber of Turtle Creek.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Charles (Shirley) Wilson Jr and sister Lynn Dee Aber.

Mary enjoyed reading and studying the bible with a nice hot cup of coffee. She had a deep love for our Creator and spent many hours watching Christian television. Over the years she assembled a small collection of porcelain pieces and jewelry that featured various crosses, angels, and historic biblical figures. Every Christmas season she would unpack one of her Nativity scenes and set it up. While raising her family during the summer months John & Mary would go camping, and attend the local Carpenters Union picnic held at Westview Park each year.  Mary retired from JCPenney's hair salon where she was the head receptionist for many years.
