Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | April 17, 2025

William K. “Bill” Lewis Jr., 59, of Elizabeth Township, on Monday, April 14th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 9th, 1965 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William K. Lewis, Sr. and Jane (Emerick) Lewis.
Bill was a United States Marine with a deep love for his country and freedom. After an honorable discharge, he worked in the gas and oil industry across the country. Some of his work took him to Iraq as a commercial contractor.
Fort Smith, Arkansas became Bill's beloved home and he earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Arkansas. While living in Fort Smith, he participated in his favorite southern Baptist church's social events and picnics. The south had a special place in his heart as well as southern cooking and grilling. Additionally, Bill loved to bake his moms best recipes, cook and basically possess the kitchen any time he had the chance.
Later in life, Bill returned to the Pittsburgh area with his family to continue working in the gas and oil industry. He invested long hours at work and for relaxation rode his motorcycle through the mountains.
As life circumstances changed, Bill discovered the love of his life, Donna Marie. His relationship with her softened his heart and brought profound change to his life. Together, they navigated challenges and sought to find meaning and peace through faith in God. Bill attended New Hope Assembly of God, accepted Jesus as his Saviour and participated in water baptism.
Bill opened his heart to include a loving and trusting bond of friendship with his sister-in-law, Janet, her family and her fiance, Frank. Bill had a very special friendship and Christian brotherhood with his brother-in-law (brother) Frank. Bill is greatly missed and is greatly loved by them.
In 2023, due to ongoing physical complications, Bill was placed on a transplant list for multiple organs. He fought a valiant battle against chronic illness. He never complained and was always mindful of those who cared for him. He appreciated everyone's compassion and support.
He will be greatly missed.
