Steven G. "Steve" Kovack, Jr., 48, of Elizabeth, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025.  He was born February 12, 1977 in Pittsburgh and was the son of Mary Ellen (Mitchell) Konik and the late Steven G. Kovack, Sr.  Steve was a retired US NAVY Veteran, with over 13 years of service and worked as a Flight Deck LPO for the majority of his time in the Navy prior to retirement. He was proud to serve our country during Operation Enduring Freedom and served in both Iraq and Afghanistan.  He was the center of the 1994 McKeesport Tiger State Championship Football Team and also still holds the record for the longest home run at Helen Richey Field in McKeesport.  Steve had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was also a very generous and caring person who would give you the shirt off his back.  His main focus in life was his family, he was a great son, husband, father and pap-pap. He will be greatly missed, never forgotten and his memory will live on forever.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cynthia M. Kovack; daughter, Alexandria "Lexy" (Kody) Kovack; son, Caleb (Chloe) Kovack; grandson and best buddy, Kamryn "Bam Bam" Aschmeller; sister, Chris (Steven) Simpkin; nephews, Cody and John Shaffer; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; his service dog, Axel; his dog, Zeus and his cats, Lily and Wally.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bertha Gouw; his dog, Nia and his cats, Maximillian and Asia; best friend, whom he was also deployed with, Dustin Miller; and his fellow other service members who have also passed on.   There will be no visitation. Inurnment with full military honors will be held at a later date to be announced at The National Cemetery of The Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
