Roy Albert Locke Sr., age 84, of Finleyville, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 19, 2025 at his daughter’s home. An Army veteran who served in Vietnam from 1962-1964 and rose to the rank of sergeant, he retired after more than 30 years with Duquesne Light. Roy enjoyed RV camping with his wife and family for many years. He enjoyed NASCAR especially the Dale Earnhardt years, reading his Clive Cussler books, trips to the Meadows, and taking care of his yard. He loved his riding mower and tending to his garden and flowers, but he hated the magnolia leaves! He also enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, great-grandchildren, and his little dog, Angel. Born November 23, 1940 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Herman and Ethel (Houlpe) Locke and husband of 50 years to the late Martha “Mert” (Justice) Locke. He is survived by his son, Roy (Lynne) Locke Jr. of Port Charlotte, FL; daughter, Marybetth (fiancé John Kukonick) Locke of Finleyville; granddaughter, Amanda (Rick) Pucciarella of Altoona; great-grandchildren, Emily and Vincent of Altoona; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Elizabeth (the late Arthur) Hagan, Herman (Janice) Locke, Raymond (the late Gertrude) Locke and Sandra (the late Donald) Lenigan. The family would like to thank Maggie, his home care aid, for her care and compassion. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth, Friday, April 25, 2025 from 3-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity Pap held close to his heart, Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
