William Sylvester Farmer, Jr., 78, of Elizabeth, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. He was born August 3, 1946 in Elizabeth Township and was the son of the late William Sylvester Sr., Lavinia Jean (Cummock) Farmer. William was a Machinist at Carbidie and Kennametal for 40 years. Bill graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in 1964 and went on to the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He was a member of the NRA and had a passion for hunting with archery, flintlocks and muzzleloaders. He lived from hunting season to hunting season, spending time in between seasons gearing up for the next one.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda (Odorcich) Farmer; children, William Sylvester (Dana Lynn) Farmer, III. of Maryland, Shelley Lynn Farmer of Elizabeth and Robert Matthew (Allison Clair) Farmer of Beaver County; grandchildren, Elizabeth Dawn (Ethan), Isaac William, Adam Sylvester, Anna Grace and Julian Robert; brother, Jerry Joseph (Bonnie Lynn) Farmer of Elizabeth; and nephews Jerry and Mike. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Bruce William Farmer and nephew William Odorcich. Services are being held privately.
