Marian Matilda Ines (Tomaino) Raseta age 98 of Florida, formerly of North Huntingdon PA, passed away on October 19, 2025, at Sabal Palms Long Term Care and Rehab in Largo, Florida, after a long illness. She was born February 13, 1927, in Pitcairn, a daughter of the late James and Clemintine Bonacci Tomainio. In addition to her parents Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Milan Raseta, her brothers Victor Tomaino, Adolph Tomaino and Ralph Tomaino and sisters Jency Ruffo, Caroline Berardelli and Viola Chiodo.
A graduate of Mount Mercy College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, Marian taught elementary students in the Pittsburgh Diocese and the Duquesne City School District. Her deep devotion to the blessing of God’s gifts led her to share her love of music with her students and later was instrumental in conducting a newly formed boys’ choir. She was one of many St. Joseph Sisters’ angelic voices which were recorded on a Christmas carol record album enjoyed to this day. She held memberships with the Sweet Adelines and the chorus of The Pittsburgh Opera. Marian was a beautiful, loving lady, who was blessed with the gentle strength of kindness towards everyone she met. She loved all her nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Through her devotion in God’s prayers, she shared the gifts of living life’s joys to its fullest.
Contributions in Marian’s memory may be donated to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 1020 State Street, Baden, PA, 15005.
Visitation will be held at James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon PA, on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 11 AM – 1 PM, with a blessing service to follow at 1 PM followed by entombment at McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport, PA.
The family would like to thank Jessica with The Rose Program, the staff at Sabal Palms Long Term Care and Rehab and Regal Palms Assisted Living in Largo for all their compassion and loving care.
