Dr. Satyananda Chakrabarti, age 80 of Greensburg, passed away on January 14, 2026 at Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg. He was born on May 20, 1945 in Kolkata, India, a son of the late Jibananda Chakrabarti and Manju Bhattacharya. Satyananda was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church in North Huntingdon. He earned the titles of PhD (Doctor of Philosophy), PE (Professional Engineer), and Distinguished Engineer. He went on to pursue a career as a civil, nuclear, and environmental engineer with D'appalonia Engineering and later American Electric Power. In his free time, Satyananda enjoyed fishing, he loved to read, and he was a great cook. In addition to his parents, Satyananda was preceded in death by one sister, Supurna. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryll Conaway, two sons, Suman (wife Melanie) and Amitabha (wife Asumi), one brother, Kamalendu (wife Sabitri), three sisters, Aparna, Anjana, and Sumana, one grandson, Kaden, one brother-in-law Kevin, and many extended family members. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 AM with a service at 11 AM.
