Shirley J. Coulter, age 73, of McKeesport, died January 24, 2026 at UPMC Shadyside. Born September 25, 1952, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Ike and Janet Newhouse, wife of the late Timothy Coulter, and life partner of Michael Miller.
Shirley was a dedicated caregiver who retired from the former Sunrise Assisted Living of Monroeville, where she touched the lives of many with her compassion and kindness. Known for her warm smile and captivating storytelling, Shirley had a remarkable ability to entertain and turn the simplest moments into memories. In the summer, she loved sitting outside, taking in the sunshine. She found great joy in playing cards, often gathering with friends and family to share in friendly competition.
In addition to her life partner, Shirley is also survived by daughters, Rhonda (Noel Pagan) Coyne, Gina (Joseph Sickuer) Coulter, and Tracy Coulter; brother, Edward Newhouse; sister Dorothy Reno; Grandchildren, Gavin, Lucas, Kayla, Corey, Jenna, Darren, Brynn, Maranda, Marissa, and Autumn; great-grandchildren Kaleah, and Orazio; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley is also preceded in death by her sisters, Elise Newhouse, and Louise Newhouse; granddaughter, Amber; grandson, Dustin; and nephew, Brian Newhouse.
Family and friends will be received at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.
