Michael Edward (Sweeny) Wilson, 72, was born September 15, 1953, in Braddock, PA, to the late Clarence Wilson and Lucille Turner Wilson.

Michael was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, but above all, a family man. Family was something he loved. He cared deeply about the well-being of his children and took pride in watching his family grow physically, mentally, and in spirit. Seeing that growth meant everything to him.

Michael moved through life at his own pace. He was laid back, steady, and comfortable in who he was. He didn’t rush for anyone or anything, and there was something reassuring about that. You always knew where you stood with him. He loved the simple things: fishing, sports in general, and nature movies.

He took care of the family dogs. First Chase, and later Reggie, and was never too tired for them. Those quiet, ordinary, and genuine moments were where he felt most at home.

In his later years, Michael became more of a homebody, as his health began to challenge him; he carried it quietly. He wasn’t one to complain or pit his burdens on others. Even then, he remained present, observant, and grounded.

Michael was deeply loved and knew it. And now he will be missed more than words can fully express. He leaves behind a large family. Countless memories and a steady imprint on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence mattered. His life mattered. And his legacy lives on through us.

Michael passed away on January 31, 2026, at UPMC Montefiore Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, father, Clarence Wilson, mother, Lucille Wilson, son, Carlos Acie, and brother, Clarence Wayne Wilson.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Sheree Snooks Wilson, mother-in-law, Marta Snooks, daughter, Shakira Allison (2), Christopher (Peegee) Samuel (4), Michelle (Anthony) Butler (7), Carlos Acie (deceased) (5), Michael (Danette) Wilson II (4), Saxon (Justin) Noel (2), Simone (Troy) (4), 28 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sister, June Clinton (James). Michael had an extra ordinary bond with DeWayne Allison, and a host of aunts, uncles,  cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
