Carol E. Dodaro, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and steadfast devotion to her family and friends.
Born on February 21, 1945, Carol lived a life guided by kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. She was the beloved wife of Jim Dodaro, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage filled with partnership, unconditional love, warmth, humor, and countless treasured memories.
Carol was a proud and devoted mother to her three children, Jim (Teri) Dodaro, Dan (Milissa) Dodaro, and Carrie (Mike) Smetana. Her greatest joy was raising her children and watching them grow into loving parents themselves.
She was a devoted grandmother to nine grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Megan, John, Danielle, Charlie, Zachary, Cecilia, and Vincent, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness. Time spent with family was what she cherished most.
She is also survived by her loving sister, Lou Ann (Herb) Paterra, her brother, Bob (Lois) Pogyor, and her cherished niece and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Carol found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved golfing, playing Rummikub with dear friends, and friendly competitions of Words with Friends. She and Jim treasured their winter months in Tampa, where they built lasting friendships and created many happy memories.
Blue skies and sunshine will forever remind her family of the warmth, love, and joy she brought into their lives.
A funeral service celebrating Carol's life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, on what would have been her 81st birthday, at 12:00pm at St. Angela Merici Church, 1640 Fawcett Ave., White Oak, PA 15131, followed by burial at New St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 1443 Lincoln Hwy, North Versailles, PA 15137.
A reception will be held at the Free Hungarian Reformed Church, 101 University Drive, McKeesport 15132, immediately following the burial and all are welcome to attend.
