Ronald L. McKown Sr., age 90, of Buena Vista, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026 at home. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church and a Navy veteran having served during the Korean War. He retired as a machine operator at TMS International in Elrama. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors, and spending time with his grandchildren. Born November 22, 1935 in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late Robert and Catherine (Maley) McKown Sr. and husband of the late Betty A. “Dolly” (Werner) McKown. He is survived by his sons, James McKown of Buena Vista, Ronald L. (Mimi) McKown Jr. of Pittsburgh, Lonnie (Janice) McKown of Buena Vista, Michael McKown of New Eagle and Kurt Martin of North Versailles; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughters, Robin Ann Wilde and Betty Jean Bodzer; two great-grandsons; and numerous siblings. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 12 Noon in the chapel at Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp., with Pastor Jeff Riker officiating.
