Barbara Bradford Buti, 96, of White Oak, PA. Passed peacefully on April 16, 2026. Our beloved mother was a true warrior.
Born on Dec 15, 1929, in Brockton, Massachusetts, she was the only daughter of Andrew W. and Ethel B. Knight. She left Massachusetts when she met and married the late Armando A. Buti. They then started a new life together. In addition to raising a family, Barbara worked most of her life outside of the home and eventually retired from UPMC McKeesport x-ray department.
Barbara enjoyed several hobbies. She loved crafts of all kinds, such as sewing, knitting, ceramics and painting. Barbara had a true love of music, she enjoyed playing piano, singing and dancing. Her favorite season was summer. She enjoyed attending the concerts in Renzie Park and watching the fireworks. On a sunny day, she would love to soak up the sunshine.
She loved to read and travel, exploring the world as the wife of a career military serviceman. Not much could hold her down; Barbara braved whitewater rafting and a flight in an Ultralight Power Parachute. She found comfort and joy in the companionship of her pets, especially the dogs and birds she adored. She was also a passionate sports fan and die-hard Steelers fan. A devoted Christian, Barbara was an alter server at St. Joseph University Parish in Terre Haute, Indiana alongside her daughter-in-law Jane Buti. They also volunteered together every Monday and Friday at the food pantry.
Barbara is survived by her five children. Mark (Jane) Buti of Terre Haute, IN., Christina M. Buti of White Oak, Karen (Ralph) Russo of Elizabeth, Janet (Jim) Rager of McKeesport, and David (Rose) Buti of McKeesport.
