Michael G. Smider

Age 68, of Dravosburg, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January 22, 2017.

Best friend and beloved husband of 43 years to Nancy (Kunzic) Smider; son of the late John and Anna Smider; brother of John (Bernie) Smider and Charles (Margaret) Smider; son-in-law of the late John and Alice Kunzic; brother-in-law of Jack (Andrea) Kunzic and the late Maureen (Don) Stetzer; uncle of Mark (Debbie) Smider, Denise (George) Glumac, Brian (Teri) Smider, David (Mary) Smider, Dr. Vaughn Smider, Scott (Amy) Smider, Kristin (John) Doyle, John A. Kunzic as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the UPMC Cancer Center, Jefferson Office and to the Jefferson Hospital, 4th Floor nursing staff for their care and support. Mike was a 25 year bus operator with Port Authority and member of the ATU Local #85; a lifetime member of Dravosburg #2 VFD, and member of Jacktown Ride and Hunt Club. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-9 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:30 am in the funeral home chapel.
