June D. Kastronis, 70, of McKeesport, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at UPMC Shadyside. Born July 28, 1946, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Walter and June (Ravenscroft) Forsythe, and the wife of Christopher T. Kastronis, of McKeesport. June worked as a hair dresser in the West Mifflin area until retirement. She was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post 701, Punxsutawney Eagles, Moose Lodge 954 and the Wallston Club in Punxsutawney. She had a passion for going fishing and will always be remembered by her family as the best cook ever. June especially loved her grandchildren and will always be watching over their activities and events. In addition to her husband, June is survived by children, Christopher T. (Amy) Kastronis Jr., of North Huntingdon, Daniel (Melissa) Kastronis, of Elizabeth, and Jarett Kastronis, of McKeesport; grandchildren, Genna, Conan and Chloe; sister, Marjorie (Tex) McIntyre, of Carnegie; brother, Richard Forsythe, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Walter, Mabel and her twin, James Forsythe. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, and from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at JAYCOX-JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Charles Owston officiating. Burial will follow in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
