Helen S. Ribovich, age 93 of Versailles, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in Select Specialty Hospital in McKeesport.  Born May 23, 1923 in Greensburg, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Catherine (Dufala) Somple. 

A member of St. Patrick's Parish in McKeesport, Helen was instrumental in the founding of the former St. Denis Parish in Versailles, was active in its Christian Family Movement, and was an unwavering supporter of children's right to life.  She joins her husband, the late John Ribovich, who passed away February 13, 2000.  Helen is survived by her six children and their spouses: Jerilyn (John) Glass, M.D., of Boyds, MD, Rebecca (James) Matsakis, M.D. of Ellicott City, MD, Martin (Lourdes) Ribovich, M.D., of Cleveland, OH, Thomas Ribovich, M.D. of Denver, CO, Gregory Ribovich, Esq. of Gaithersburg, MD, and Daniel Ribovich of Versailles; her six grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; her sister Barbara Trettel of Plymouth, MN; her brother Michael Somple of Virginia Beach, VA; and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, 4504 Walnut St., Versailles Borough, McKeesport, PA 15132 (412-678-3454) on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Patrick's Church with Fr. Norbert Campbell officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Vue.  Memorials in Helen's name should be made to either Birthright of Pittsburgh, 160 N.
