PETER BALLABAN, 87, of West Mifflin died March 9, 2017.  Originally from Donora, PA, he was the son of the late Matthew and Mary Ballaban; beloved husband of Anna (Hura) Ballaban; father of Peter (Lynn) Ballaban of Wexford, Becky (the late Al) Marks of West Mifflin and David (Joyce) Ballaban of Reading, Pa; grandfather of Jayne and Matthew Marks; brother of Matthew Ballaban of FL; also survived by nieces and nephews.  P

ete was a school teacher for 37 years, beloved by his students who always made a point to stop and say hello when their paths crossed. He retired from the South Allegheny School District, where he was the school's first head football coach in 1966. He also taught and coached at Ellsworth, Monessen, Glassport, Norwin, and Monongahela. He was a member of Holy Spirit Church in West Mifflin and served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War.

 

Friends will be received at Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral mass will be held Monday at 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Church with Rev. Pat Barkey.  Entombment following at Lebanon Church Cemetery
