James "Jim" Arillotta, age 91 of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2017 in Atlanta, GA where he resided with his daughter.  He was surrounded by his family, who shared many wonderful memories of laughter and love and ushered him into heaven.  Born April 20, 1925 in Elizabeth, he was the son of the late Frank Arillotta and Mary (Modafari) Arillotta.  

A retired airplane mechanic for the Pennsylvania Air National Guard and a parishioner of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton, Jim was in the military for 39 years and served in World War II in the US Navy.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Zelinda (Vitelli) Arillotta, to whom he was married to  62 years; his siblings Josephine Kushner, Rose Sgroi, and Tony, Angelo, John Arillotta; and his granddaughter Gabrielle.  Jim is survived by his son, Dr. Clyde Arillotta (Dorothy) of Peters Twp; his daughter Sandra Ann Bertani of Alpharetta GA; his grandchildren James J. II, Jonathan, Frank, Janel, Alex, Yelena, Sam, and Marina; and also nieces and nephews.  Jim's love for life was contagious and he lived each day to the fullest.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting with his dog GiGi, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was loving, generous, and encouraging to the people whose lives he touched.  He was valiant in the fight to savor every moment of life.  He had a special way of touching people's hearts and he will be forever missed.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 5th. St., Clairton, PA 15025 (412-233-5700) on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Clare of Assisi Church.  Procession and burial will follow to Jefferson Memorial Park in Pleasant Hills.  www.bekavacfuneralhome.com
