Donald Jeter, 70, of Newark, New Jersey, formerly of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 30, 2017.

Donald was born June 25, 1946, in Aliquippa, PA. He was the son of the late Woodrow Sr. and Florence Jeter. His friends and family called him Shag. Donald graduated from Hopewell High chool. He served in the U.S. Army. Donald moved to New York City, NY, where he held several jobs and then moved to Newark, NJ. Donald was a compassionate and loving person; he told jokes and funny stories to his beloved family.

He leaves to cherish his memories a son, Darron Shegog of Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter, Jerice Jeter of Brown, NY; twin sister Gladys Jeter of New York City, NY; brother, Woodrow Wilson, Jr. of Moon Township, PA; sisters, Carol Baldwin and Brenda Lundy of Newark, NJ; sister, Roxanne Cashaw of Aliquippa, PA; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; his uncle Frank (Shirley) Jeter, Weirton, VA; two aunts, Margaret (Jeter) Henderson of
Carlisle, SC; Mary Edna Jeter of Bloomfield, CT; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas Jeter and Juila Mae Jeter, and a daughter-in-law Ta-Tanisha Perry-Shegog. A special thanks to his devoted nephews, Lowell Lundy, Edward Baldwin, and Dion Cashaw, all of Newark, NJ.

Visatation will be on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, 1015 Davis Street, Aliquippa, PA, where a service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Troy Sligh giving the eulogy.
