Karen Lee Balog, age 68, of White Oak died May 18, 2017 at home. Born September 9, 1948 in Homestead, she was the daughter of the late Martin K. Gillette and the living Dorothy M. (James) Gillette and the wife of James Balog for 30 loving years. Karen loved to go out and dance with her husband and friends. She collected cookbooks and made many dishes from them. In addition to her mother and husband, Karen is survived by her step children, Sarah Balog and David (Danielle) Balog; step granddaughter Kayla DiMeo; step grandchildren Krystel and Danny Balog; sister, Debbie Navilliat; niece, Chantillie Navilliat; nephew, Steven Navilliat, great nephew Brandon Navilliat. Karen is preceded in death by her nephew Thomas Navilliat. Family and friends will be received at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday May 22, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 10 a.m., in the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Daniel Borsay will officiate. Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
