S. G. “Bud” Fletcher, 88, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on February 13, 2016 at Magnolias of Lancaster where he had been a resident for the past year.

Bud, husband of the late Doris (Moyer) Fletcher, was born March 25, 1927 in Versailles, Allegheny County, PA to Stacy G. Fletcher Sr. and Ina (Rodgers) Fletcher.  He was married to the late Phyllis J. (Crum) Fletcher in June of 1949.  He married his late wife, Doris, in November of 1978.

Bud attended schools in the Versailles and Clairton area and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater as Electricians Mate 2/c on board the USS Deede.

He was in the electrical business for 56 years and was the founder and president of Boston Electric and Engineering Company in Allegheny County and president of Lancaster Electric, Inc. in Lancaster.

Bud invented and patented several electric control devices.

He was a member of the McKeesport and Lancaster Rotary Clubs, Past President and Treasurer of SAM (Society for Advancement of Management) of Corpus Christi, TX and a member and Property Chairman of the Newport Hunting Lodge in Treaster Valley, PA.

Bud was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and woodworker.

He was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ in Ephrata.

Bud is survived by his three daughters: Ina (Stephen Leutbecher) of Jonesborough, TN; Ruthanne (Fred Wood) of Lititz, PA; and Carol (Larry Hunt) of Vonore, TN.  Two adopted sons: Andrew Fletcher (Diane) of Ephrata, PA and Nicolas Fletcher (Stacy) of San Diego, CA, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, step-daughters Shelia Nichols of Birdsboro, PA and Roxanne Smith of Hummelstown, PA, three step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wives and parents, Bud was preceded in death by his brother Jack Fletcher and sisters: Emma Zinsser, Nedra Bassler, Bess Jones, and Ina Muhlbaier.

Visitation will be at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals 100 W. Main St. Ephrata, PA 17522 on Thursday, February 18 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. with funeral services following at 7:00 p.m.

Graveside services and interment with Military Honors will be held at Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh, PA at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016.
