Madelyn Marie Stanton, 98, of Boston, died Monday, February 22, 2016 at home. She was born December 7, 1917 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Thomas Hibbs and the late Francis Wilson Hibbs Lattimer. She was the wife of the late George H. Stanton who died May 22, 1973. She was a member of the Greenock United Methodist Church and was the organist there for many years. Madelyn was also the organist for 50 years for the First Presbyterian Church of Glassport and was pianist for the West Side United Methodist Church Bible School.

She was a retired Operating Room Nurse's Aid at McKeesport Hospital. She is survived by her sons, Duane O. Stanton and David A. (Patti) Stanton and daughter, Diane M. (Bill) Riley of Elizabeth Township, grandchildren, Megan(Jerry Grefenstette), Erin (Scott Huwalt), Monniequa, and Cheryl, and great-grandchildren, Maura, Zachary, Daniel, Lariah, Paityn, Riley, Michael, and Kalia. She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Joshua David Huwalt and sister, Helen Blanche Hibbs. Friends are welcome Thursday, February 25 from 5-9 pm. at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held at the Greenock United Methodist Church on Friday, February 26, at 11:00 am. with The Rev. Edwin Pope, officiating. Private interment will follow at the Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greenock United Methodist Church , 1213 Greenock Buena Vista Road, McKeesport, PA 15135 or the West Side United Methodist Church, 305 Atlantic Avenue, McKeesport PA 15132.
