Sister M. Assumpta Krotky, age 97 of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer in Elizabeth Twp., passed away in the Motherhouse on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Born November 26, 1919 in Markusovce, Slovakia, she was a daughter of the late Clement and Cecilia (Cvengros) Krotky.
Sr. Assumpta entered the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer in 1941 with her First Profession in 1944. Throughout her time she served as a teacher, a Sacristan, and helped in the Motherhouse Infirmary. In her spare time, she played the accordion, loved music, and enjoying God's sunshine in the great outdoors. Sr. Assumpta was a very prayerful, joyful, and kind sister who was always concerned with helping others. Along with her fellow Sisters, she is survived by her sister-in-law Florine Krotky; her half sisters Rosalia (Ray) Grab and Regina Deitrick; her niece Cecilia (Kurt) Woerner; her nephews Joe (Ellen) Krotky and Kevin Krotky; and also her great-nephews and great-nieces. Friends will be received in the Divine Redeemer Motherhouse on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 4 PM to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 10 AM in the Divine Redeemer Motherhouse Chapel with Fr. Thomas Kirby officiating and Fr. Edward Litavec concelebrating.
