David Charles Taylor, 69, of Rostraver, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at home. He was born June 3, 1948 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Thomas L. and Agnes Blank Taylor. David had worked for the US Postal Service and was a member of the Rostraver Sportsman's Club and the NRA. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War. For his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with 1 star and device, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm and the Purple Heart Medal. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Gogoel Taylor, son, Michael Andrew Taylor of West Mifflin, daughter, Kristin Michelle (Donald) Pope of West Alexander, grandchildren, Madelyne Nicole Taylor, Nash Ryker Pope and Colt Ryder Pope, brothers, Paul Taylor of North Huntingdon and Robert (Andrea) Taylor of McKeesport, sisters, Marie (John) Proffitt of North Huntingdon, Geraldine Donnelly and Martha Reese of Irwin, Stella Hall of White Oak, Dorothy (Robert) Miller and Emma Supp of West Mifflin, and Ruth Ann (Ron) Dixon of McKeesport, sister-in-law, B.J. Taylor of Port Vue, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas L. Taylor, Jr.
Friends are welcome Wednesday, December 27 from 2-4 and 6-8:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
