Stephen Cherepko, 90, of Elizabeth Township, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March  4, 2019. He was born February 20, 1929 in Elizabeth Township and was the son of the late John and Johanna (Kovach) Cherepko. He was a member of St. Michael's  Orthodox Church in McKeesport and Operating Engineers Local 66 in Monroeville.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly "Babs" (Wilson) Cherepko, daughters, Rachelle (Jul)  Fetchen of Inverness, FL., Stephanie (John) Pavlik of Elizabeth Township, Diana (Richard) Beem of Idaho Falls, IA, and Judy Ann (Gilbert) Brownfield of Lewisville, TX, son, Stephen (Kelly) Cherepko of Elizabeth Township, brother, Paul (Alice) Cherepko of Elizabeth Township, grandchildren, Danny (Billie) Fetchen, Blake (Brittany Lonero) Pavlik, Cody and Taylor Pavlik, Logan Cherepko, Andrea (Matt) Jorgensen, Stephen (Kelly) Brownfield, and Christopher Brownfield, and Rick (Diedra) Beem, great-grandchildren, Luna Jane Pavlik, Arya and Madilynn Jorgenson, and Justin, Jonathan and Jacob Brownfield,  nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Gibson, Elizabeth Sassi, Mary Zolock and Joann Trepanowski, and brothers, Andrew, Peter, Nicholas, Michael, George, John, and Charles Cherepko. Friends are welcome Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8:00 pm, at Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Panachida Service will be held Thursday at 7:30 pm. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 at 10:00am,  in the chapel of the funeral home with The Rev. George Patrick, officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
