Sarah Jane "Sally" Ringbloom, 90, of Elizabeth Township, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016. She was born December 11, 1925 in Duquesne and was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary Ann O'Brien Scarry. She was the wife of the late Donald Paul Ringbloom who died November 14, 2005. Sally was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Township and the Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens. She worked in the Chemistry Lab at US Steel Duquesne Works during WWII and had also retired from the Elizabeth Post Office.
Sally was instrumental in organizing the first Girl Scout Troop in Elizabeth Township. She is survived by her sons, Donald P. (Kathleen) Ringbloom, Jr., of Manchester, CT, Michael T. (Marcelle) Ringbloom of Vernon, CT, John W. "Bill" (Diane) Ringbloom of Sutersville, and Vernon M. (Faith) Ringbloom of Elizabeth Township, sister, Mary Scarry of Elizabeth Township, grandchildren, Kirk (Jane), Sheila (Dennis), Erica (Peter), Billy (Cori), Glen (Erin), Erin (Fernando), Chad (Stephanie), Tracy, Vern, and Kelly (Brian), great-grandchildren, Emily, Anabelle, Jayla, Brian, Gabriella, Peter, Harper, Delaney, Delia, Emmett, and Hayden, nieces and nephews, including Kristeen Merichko and Kathleen Scarry, whom she helped raise. She was preceded in death by brothers, John L. and Michael J. Scarry. Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 7-9, Friday, May 20 at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (Drew J. Gilbert-Director). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Michael Parish on Saturday, May 21, at 9:30 am with The Rev. Thomas Wagner, officiating. Interment will follow at the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township. Condolences may be made at gilbertfuneralhomeandcrematory.com.
