Robert Louis Brown, 93, of White Oak, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020. He was born August 3, 1927 in Willock, PA and was the son of the late John Chizer and the late Alberta (Curry) Miller. He was a US Navy Veteran serving in WWII as a Radarman on the USS Boxer CV-21 Aircraft Carrier.  He worked at the former Bell Telephone Company and later AT&T. He was a member of The American Legion 701 in White Oak, The Polaris Masonic Lodge in McKeesport and The Frank Gun Cub in Buena Vista. He was also a shriner and a Scottish Rite Mason.  Robert was an avid golfer and hunter, and was a Pittsburgh sports fan, most notably having Steelers season tickets for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth L. (Lonkosky) Brown; sons, Robert L. (Daria) of Pittsburgh and John W. (Lisa) Brown of Hopwood; grandchildren, Robert L. Brown III. and Rebecca L. Brown, both of Pittsburgh as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Gene Miller and sister, Janet Godfrey. Private visitation will be held Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director.
