Doris May Larson, 85, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2020. She was born May 22, 1935 in Cochranton, and was the daughter of the late William Harry and Ann (Caldwell) Wecas. She was the wife of the late William Howard Larson, Sr., who passed away September 29, 2018. Doris began her career as a school teacher. She later worked for West Virginia University and the US Steel Clark Lab. She was a graduate of Thiel College and Carnegie Mellon University. She is survived by her son, William H. (Cheryl) Larson, Jr., of Versailles, daughters, Amy S. Larson of Lititz and Bess Ann (Thomas) Beaty of Cary, NC, sister, Grace Peterson of Cochranton, grandchildren, Sarah Lynn (Andy) Krut and Elizabeth Ann Larson, great-grandson, Sullivan Krut and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leslie, Harold "Raine", and Howard Kaufold, a sister, Ann Kaufold and step-sister, Myra Wecas . Friends are welcome Friday, October 30, 2020 from 9-11:30 am at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel, Friday at 11:30 am. The Rev. Andrew Harvey will officiate. Inurnment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
