Leonard S. Chemsak, of McKeesport, passed away on November 5, 2020, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital.  He was the son of the late John and Mary (Polyak) Chemsak, and husband of Helen (Protz) Chemsak for 45 years.

A lifelong resident of McKeesport, he retired as a printer from the McKeesport Daily News.  He attended St. Procopius College in Lisle, IL, and Saints Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Seminary in Pittsburgh.  He was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in McKeesport, where he served as a cantor for over 55 years.  He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Army and was stationed in France. Leonard was a pysanky expert and took pride in teaching others at the church.  
In addition to his wife Helen, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Brett) Vezzani.  
He was preceded in death by brothers, John P. Chemsak, Michael Chemsak, George R. Chemsak, Andrew L. Chemsak and a sister, Margaret (Chemsak) Gala; many nieces and nephews.  
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday November 10, 2020 from 12 to 6 p.m. A memorial service for the deceased will be held at 4 p.m.
A Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery.
