She was a member of the SMERF (Society of Murphy Employees Retired and Fired) organization, serving as President for a number of years. She was a “Special Aunt” to Dennis, Cynthia, Leigh Ann, TR and Jane Ellen and their children and grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by her many close and dear friends and family.
Life was an adventure for Alice. She loved to travel, was always fashionable, and liked to spend time with her friends. She was an ardent sports fan and especially cheered for the Steelers. She enjoyed celebrating holidays with her dear family and enjoyed reading and sharing books with her sister and friends. She loved to grow vegetables and was famous for making pickles from the cucumbers she grew. She was a fierce competitor in the family sports polls and relished beating her niece, Leigh Ann, in their annual football and horse racing bets.
A mass will be said in her honor at St Angela’s (Mary, Mother of God) Catholic Church in White Oak at a later date due to the current public health crisis. Interment was private. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the care provided by the dedicated staff of Gallagher Hospice.
