Edward "Ed" R. Krien, 72, of White Oak, passed away Tuesday February 16, 2021. He was born May 22, 1948 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Frank and Irene (Tretyak) Krien. Ed was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and during his time of service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Overseas Service Bar, Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge M-14 and M-16, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Ed was a very hardworking man, who worked for Central Blood Bank as a truck driver for 35 years, where he had just recently retired, December 31, 2020. No matter what was made for dinner, Ed had always preferred hotdogs and baked beans, but nothing beat a bowl of cheerios or popsicles. Ed enjoyed his family time while vacationing to OBX every summer.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Wilma M. (Runge) Krien, daughter, Shanna (Kent) Krien, of White Oak, son, Brandon (Samantha) Krien, of Connellsville, grandson, Collin Krien, sister, Lois (the late Harry) Alverson of Oakmont, and father-in-law, Bernard Runge of West Mifflin. Along with his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Frank (the late Glenda) Krien, and his mother-in-law, Lucille Runge.
