Joseph Patrick Alexander Craig, 62, of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, April 10, at the home of his daughter after a brave battle with cancer. He was surrounded by those who loved him.

Joe was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Mary (Knight) and Robert Craig Jr. on September 16, 1958.  He was a 1977 graduate of Dorchester High School.  Joe was a Sargent in the Army Corps of Engineers and served in Germany.  
Joe began his career as an underwater welder after attending diving school in New York. He also worked many years as a carpenter, building custom furniture, grand staircases, along with restoration work on older homes in the Boston area. He worked as a fabricator for the Carnegie Museums for nearly 15 years, with many of his exhibits displayed in Pittsburgh and around the world.  Joe traveled to Malawi, Africa, where he did volunteer work designing and building mobile medical units for those in need. He was an avid woodworker, a gun enthusiast, and enjoyed camping, hiking, building aquariums and raising fish.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law Eugene Stancato. Joe is survived by his daughter Jessica Shores Williams and her husband Patrick Williams.  He is also survived by his brother Robert (Donna O’Neil) Craig III, his sister Mary Stancato, and his sister Susan (Chris) Collier. He is also survived by a nephew, three nieces, three great nieces and three great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a nonprofit Veterans organization of your choice.
Joe’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to his friend and neighbor Lisa Scott for her continued help and support, as well as his oncologist Dr. Max Jameson-Lee.
Funeral services will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday April 15, 2021 at the William H. Craig Funeral Home.   Burial will be at Penn Forest Natural Burial Park in Verona, Pennsylvania.   Arrangements are entrusted to the William H. Craig Funeral Home in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
