Dominic Meddis, 57, of Elizabeth Township, died Monday, August 1, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 9, 1959 in McKeesport and was the son of Angela Santacaterina Meddis of Versailles and the late Philip Meddis. Dominic was Director of Training for Valley Dairy Restaurants. He was very kind, patient and always filled the room with laughter.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Shirley Christina Meddis, sister, Teresa M. (Shane) Countryman of Liberty Borough, brother, Nick (Eileen) Meddis of Point Breeze, nieces, Lauren Helke and Isabella Countryman of Liberty Borough, and his Labs, Lexie and Omar. He was preceded in death by his dog, Mercedes. There is no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Parish on Thursday August 4, at 10:00 am. with The Rev. Vincent P. Velas, officiating . Burial will follow at the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township. Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Dominic loved dogs very much and requested that memorial contributions be made to Cindy's Memorial Bark Park, 1211 McClelland Drive, Port Vue, PA 15133.
